Somehow England have won the group!

Anyway regardless of all of the stuff about the Nations League, playing with 4 at the back suits us way, way better. We look like a really decent team now, which is great to say.

If only England had done this on the 11th of July! (France probably would have beaten them in the final anyway)

It was great atmosphere at Wembley today. I thought we were great first half but played poorly after we conceded. Such a great and exciting England team at the moment though.

I might try and go to the Nations League tournament next year for my 21st Birthday.

List of qualified, relegated, promoted teams:

League A: Qualified: None

Relegated: Iceland, Poland, Germany

League B: Promoted: Ukraine, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Denmark

Relegated: Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland

League C: Promoted: Finland

Relegated: Estonia, Slovenia

League D: Promoted: Georgia

Do the tables within the groups just get redrawn in 2021 then?

Pickford

Butland

Pope

Trippier

Maguire

Rose

Walker

Stones

Shaw

Keane

Gomez

Alexander-Arnold

Dier

Alli

Barkley

Henderson

Lingard

Cook

Loftus-Cheek

Foden

Sterling

Sancho

Kane

Rashford

Wilson

Solid squad for the Eyros off the top of my head - have definitely missed a few young ones that'll probably be pushing through in two years time though.

Can't see Rose making the squad and Walker might get phased out too. Only 23 places, but it looks about right based on things at the moment. That said there's plenty of time for players to fall out of form and gain form. Think a lot of it will just depend, I mean ig you asked me 6 months ago that Barkley would have forced his way back in to the England squad I would have laughed!

There's the likes of Holding, Maitland-Niles, Solanke, Sessengnon, Maddison, Lookman, Gray and Nelson too. We look pretty well stocked on paper, but it relies on the players playing regularly for their clubs too.

So it will be Switzerland, Portugal, Netherlands and England completing for the Nations League title next year.
Why do you think Walker won't be there? He's in his peak years and plays for he best club in the league currently?!

Because he will be 30 by the time the Euros come around and there is Trippier (who admittedly is not much younger) and Alexander-Arnold. In a squad of 23 I think he would be stupid to take 3 specialist right backs when we play with 4 at the back. Someone's gotta miss out and Southgate usually favours Trippier.

Romanian referee Ovidiu Hategan was consoled by Virgil van Dijk after the Netherlands 2-2 draw with Germany on Monday.

Van Dijk's 91st-minute equaliser ensured the Dutch reached the semi-finals of the Nations League.

And the Liverpool defender showed his human side embracing the official at the final whistle.

Odds to win the Nations League

England - 7/4

Portugal- 9/4

Holland - 3/1

Switzerland - 9/2

There's no way Walker misses out yet. He's much better than Trippier (though England did miss his delivery on Sunday) and only four months older! You're right that it's 2 from 3, but I can't see Walker being the one that loses out

Left back is Chilwell's to lose now. Shaw/Rose not fit enough which has given him four starts in a row, they're not getting back.

I agree Walker is far better and is my preference, but usually when fit, he's preferred Trippier. I suspect it will be one of them plus Trent Alexander-Arnold. Gives space for us to take an extra midfielder which is far more useful.

Agree about Chilwell too. Can't be too long until one of the bigger teams come back in for him.. although he'd be stupid to move right now.

Switzerland surely got to be the Dark Horses for the Nations League imo. While they're not all the biggest nations, bar Portugal the other 3 teams play some exciting stuff at times so it should be interesting.

Scotland have been promoted to League B with victory against Israel and have a Euro 2020 play-off place.

Manager Martin O'Neill and his assistant Roy Keane have parted company with the Republic of Ireland.

League A Final Four: England, Netherlands, Portugal and Switzerland

Promoted to League A: Bosnia & Herzegovina, Denmark, Sweden and Ukraine

Relegated to League B: Croatia, Germany, Iceland and Poland

Promoted to League B: Finland, Norway, Scotland and Serbia

Relegated to League C: Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland, Slovakia and Turkey

Promoted to League C: Belarus, Georgia, Kosovo and Macedonia*

Relegated to League D: Cyprus, Estonia, Lithuania and Slovenia

This means that one of these four teams will qualify to Euro 2020 via playoffs as it's unlikely any of them will qualify directly.

Thank goodness, Stephen Kenny please!!

I have to say I think the Nations League is ours to lose. Our squad depth is fantastic at the moment and no doubt we'll be even stronger by next summer.
