'The Woman Who Fell to Earth' has grown its viewing figures to 11,456,433 in BARB's 28 day data across all devices, almost half a million up on its 7 day data!

That's incredible! I've been enjoying this new series, Jodie Whittaker is wonderfully engaging as Doctor Who and although the series has been a bit slow in places the Rosa Parks episode was excellent- really good to see an episode like that which educated as well as entertained especially given the main audience are young and will have taken a huge amount from it. The episode with the spiders and the not-so-subtle Trump like character, which acted as a lesson in the dangers of fracking, was great too.

I also like the fact that the topics it has dealt with so far have wound up the Daily Heil. :D

The episode titles are awful

Not keen on the new theme either :/ I've had a few weeks to let the intro grow on me but at this point I just skip it (whereas previously I haven't).

DWM have also confirmed in their ‘Next Time’ information that the special will be airing on New Year’s Day, with a preview of it.

Not surprised that it’s turned out to be the case. I’ll miss the tradition of a Christmas special, but look forward to seeing what kind of stories this leads to.

BIGGEST DOC WHO EVER?!

BODYGUARD WHO??

Hopefully that deadly reckoning kills off Ryan and his awful, flat acting - "Hey. It. Worked."

Seems a bit strange that they've left a 'world exclusive' until after 10pm.

A preview clip of Kerblam! then... bit pointless really considering we'll have the episode on Sunday

The usually very detailed synopsis for the New Year's Day episode which confirms it will be set on New Year's Day!

"As the New Year begins, a terrifying evil is stirring, from across the centuries of Earth's history. As the Doctor, Ryan, Graham and Yaz return home, will they be able to overcome the threat to planet Earth?"
New Year’s episode is called Resolution and we will get our first look tomorrow after the finale. Fans online are speculating that it’ll be a Dalek story but I doubt it :P

At the moment I don't think I trust Chibnall with a Dalek story while they're all still very firmly character driven. Once the era becomes more established I'd love one.

Jodie's also confirmed that she definitely is returning for series 12, contrary to speculation. Ed Hime's CV shows he's writing another episode too!

It’s time for a returning monster tbh considering they haven’t been able to come uo with ANYTHING new so far. I would say it’s time for a Dalek story too, as the last proper one was the opener of S9. Will be interesting to see how humans are the real villains in a Dalek story... :kink:

I’m hoping that potential confirmation of a writer for S12 means production is well underway for a Series in 2019 although it’s a shame it’s the writer of my least favourite non-Chibnall story

So we’re officially getting the next series in early 2020, so probably the usual Easter time?

*sigh* it’s becoming such a stop/start kind of thing. I feel the show found the perfect timeslot for it, benefiting from Strictly etc so it’s a shame to throw that away. I do understand the show takes up a lot of time/pressurebut it’s frustrating from an outsider’s perspective! Especially when there’s less episodes than previous and there was a lot of planning time for this series, allowing time to plan for the next one.

Jodie/Bradley/Mandio/Tosin all confirmed to return as well.

BBC have said 'very early' 2020 for the next series and filming is going to start in January.

That heavily suggests January 2020, probably the first Sunday of the year. I've seen a few rumours that we probably won't get a Christmas(/NYD) special next year so that would probably help cover that up.

(also Doctor Who: S10 comes to Netflix tomorrow (tho all are on iPlayer))

Hopefully it will premiere on New Year's Day maybe? I can actually see it getting shifted back to Saturdays if The Greatest Dancer ends up being a hit this year to be paired together. Otherwise, Sundays again.

I kinda hope they don't move it back to Saturdays. They've already potentially shot themselves in the foot by moving it from Autumn to Spring - they need to stand by their decision to have moved it to Sundays in the first place.

I'm hoping it'll be January 2020, maybe led in by another NYD special, then the 10 regular episodes?
