In 16th place is the first single from Paloma's debut album to drop out, "Smoke & Mirrors". I think this is a great song that shows off the quirky side of her personality perfectly and it works as a great closer to the era, working almost as the sequel to "Stone Cold Sober". I'm a bit disappointed to see it place so low here but it's achieved a healthy average of over 7.0. I imagine it's not as well-remembered as the other singles from the era, and it was the first to miss the official top 100.

At #15 is the second single from her second album, 'Fall to Grace', "30 Minute Love Affair". It's the first song to receive a score of 11 to drop out and I can't say I'm sad to see it out. It's one of her more pedestrian singles and generally feels very forgettable. It failed to achieve the success of its predecessor ("Picking Up the Pieces") which became her first ever UK top ten single, peaking at #50.

13. "Just Be" - 7.5690 (Max: 11 - Jüpiter, Riser; 10 - Bjork, Klumzee, JosephSprayberry, Theo. / Min: 2 - George.keh; 5 - Nick F1)

In 14th place is the title track from Paloma's debut album, "Do You Want the Truth or Something Beautiful?". It's probably my personal least favourite single from her entire discography so I'm really quite surprised to see it getting so much love here. Paloma sounds great on it but the chorus is just very weak and it was probably too similar to the preceding single, "New York", to stand a chance at becoming a hit.

At #13 is a song which deserves a lot more love here, the stunning "Just Be". This was the immediate standout track from its parent album for me and I was delighted when it was selected as the fourth single, following on from a re-release with "Never Tear Us Apart" (still to come) included. This was the sound bed for quite a few moments in British TV around the time of the album's release and is a popular first dance song at weddings I would imagine. Lyrically, it's probably my favourite Paloma song and the final chorus gets me every single time I listen to it. Sad to see it miss the top ten but there are only really two songs left that I would say are vastly inferior to this so I can't be too annoyed.

- 7.5800 (Max: 11 - PAJ88; 10 - SamJudd, Simon., SGrey, UltraReputation / Min: 5 - Jüpiter, Nick F1, Parallel Reality, Qween)

UK chart peak: DNC

11. "Never Tear Us Apart" - 7.8621 (Max: 11 - SamJudd; 10 - George.keh, gavindeejay, Jüpiter, JosephSprayberry / Min: 3 - Bjork; 5 - dandy*)

UK chart peak: #16

In twelfth place is the second single taken from the 'Outsiders' Edition' of Paloma's third album, 'A Perfect Contradiction'. It's another beautiful ballad, building slowly towards the big moments before the middle eight and final chorus. It feels very forgotten amongst her singles so I'm surprised to see it place so highly here, receiving an 11 and four 10s. This was written for Paloma by Diane Warren, the writer behind her biggest hit, "Only Love Can Hurt Like This". It failed to achieve the same chart impact, missing the top 200 altogether.

Just missing out on a spot within Paloma's top ten singles is her cover of "Never Tear Us Apart" by INXS. This was recorded for a John Lewis advert in Autumn 2012 and was included on the reissue of her second album 'Fall to Grace'. I love the production on this, particularly the instrumental before the final chorus. It's a fantastic version of the song, I would say it is probably my favourite cover of hers to-date and I'm pleased that she managed to get a bit of a hit out of it. It's definitely stood the test of time amongst her back catalogue and I'm pleased to see it rank so high amongst Buzzjack's affections here.

I thought '30 Minute Love Affair' would be an easy top 10! Probably the biggest shock for me so far, to see it fail to go any higher than #15!

10. "'Til I'm Done" - 7.8793 (Max: 10 - cqmerqn, SamJudd, gavindeejay, HarryEzra, Parallel Reality / Min: 5 - lewistgreen, Qween; 6 - dandy*, SGrey, Klumzee)

UK chart peak: #95

9.

- 8.0172 (Max: 11 - lewistgreen, Parallel Reality; 10 - cqmerqn, George.keh, SamJudd, SGrey, Chapman, UltraReputation / Min: 4 - Jonjo, pippa; 5 - slowdown73, Jack)

UK chart peak: #10

Opening up the top ten is Paloma's most recent single as a lead artist (not including her cover of "Make Your Own Kind of Music" for a current TV advert), "Till I'm Done". This is the second disco-inspired single to be taken from her recent album 'The Architect' (after "Crybaby") and is actually the lowest-ranking of all three singles here, making it her only album to have all its singles place in the top ten. It became a minor top 100 hit after she performed it on The Graham Norton Show back in January. Her voice sounds great on this and it's probably the most fun song that there is on the album, which as a whole is much more contemplative than this. It's nice to see her releasing tracks like this as she definitely comes across as an artist who takes herself a bit too seriously sometimes.

At #9 is the first song to score an average over 8.0, "Can't Rely on You". The song was produced by Pharrell Williams and was released as the lead single from Paloma's third album, 'A Perfect Contradiction'. To me, this is probably one of her most dated-sounding songs, I don't really think she suits the production and she was probably chasing a hit when she decided to release it as a single. It worked, although the follow-up single (still to come) outperformed it by far, which I am very glad about. A lot of members are clearly fans as it scores two 11s here.

15th for 30 Minute Love Affair........... Jesus. Glad CROY sneaked top 10 though, I didn't think it would!

8. "Upside Down" - 8.0690 (Max: 10 - PAJ88, SGrey, HarryEzra, Qween, UltraReputation, Theo. / Min: 5 - Bjork; 6 - SamJudd, Simon., gavindeejay, pippa)

UK chart peak: #55

7.

- 8.3966 (Max: 10 - lewistgreen, PAJ88, Tawdry Hepburn, HarryEzra, Parallel Reality, Liam, Riser, Qween, UltraReputation, Theo. / 6 - cqmerqn, SGrey; 7 - Simon., gavindeejay, Bjork, Nick F1, Jonjo, slowdown73, pippa)

UK chart peak: #17

In eighth place is one of Paloma's most well-remembered hits, as proven by her excellent performance of it on Saturday Night Takeaway last night. If you haven't seen her performance of "Upside Down" yet, I highly recommend. Despite this being so well remembered and used by talent shows a lot over the years, it failed to make the top 40 when it was released although has since been certified Silver. It is one of her quirkiest songs, full of everything that I love about her as an artist so I'm pleased so it it so fondly remembered here too.

At #7 is Paloma's first ever single, "Stone Cold Sober". Released all the way back in summer 2009, this was expected to be quite a big hit for Paloma, following in the footsteps of British singer-songwriters like Amy Winehouse and Duffy with her throwback sound. It reached the top 20, not exactly setting the charts alight, but her debut album went on to spend over a year in the top 100 and was certified 2x Platinum. It was definitely the right song to launch her career with and similar to "Upside Down" captures her personality perfectly. It received ten scores of 10 despite not receiving an 11 - more than any other song apart from the winner!

Just watched it and that end of the show show performance was quite good! Paloma did so well to maintain composure :o

6.

- 8.4655 (Max: 10 - cqmerqn, Midge, George.keh, Simon., SGrey, gavindeejay, Parallel Reality / Min: 6 - lewistgreen, Jüpiter; 7 - Klumzee, HarryEzra, Qween, pippa)

UK chart peak: #36

5. "Guilty" - 8.6207 (Max: 11 - SGrey, Qween; 10 - George.keh, PAJ88, SamJudd, pippa, Theo. / Min: 7 - dandy*, Jüpiter, Bjork, Liam, Jack)

UK chart peak: DNC

In sixth place is "Crybaby", Paloma's first solo single in almost three years and the lead single for her current album, 'The Architect'. The song was a switch in direction for Paloma, channelling disco/funk vibes while retaining her signature vocals. Despite multiple high profile TV performances (she truly brought it at

in January), she was unable to achieve a higher chart position than #36 as she has been blacklisted by certain streaming services. There's no doubt that it deserved more but despite the chart position, I think this will go on to be well-remembered in the future. This is also the highest placed song to not receive an 11 from anybody!

Finishing one place ahead at #5 is the second single to be released from 'The Architect' and the highest-ranked here, "Guilty". This song has such a classic sound to it and is one of my favourite vocal performances from Paloma ever. Again, she performed this on almost every television programme imaginable (my favourite being on The X Factor which unforunately is unavailable on YouTube) yet was unable to dent even the top 100 officially. I'm so pleased to see this so well-liked on here though as it is a true gem from her discography that I thought was rather overlooked so I'm glad to be proven wrong!

4.

(with Sigma) - 8.8621 (Max: 11 - gavindeejay; 10 - cqmerqn, Midge, PAJ88, SamJudd, Simon., Liam, Riser, UltraReputation / Min: 6 - SGrey; 7 - JosephSprayberry, slowdown73, Qween, Jack)

UK chart peak: #1

3. "New York" (with or without Ghostface Killah) - 8.6207 (Max: 11 - George.keh, pippa, Jack / Min: 7 - cqmerqn, Klumzee, Nick F1)

UK chart peak: #15 / #44

In fourth place is "Changing", Paloma's first dip into the dance music genre, a collaboration with British DJ outfit Sigma. This is a vocal stomper from Paloma and sounds unlike any of her own material. This has aged very well, especially considering the majority of 2014's biggest hits haven't done so. This was released during the album campaign for 'A Perfect' Contradiction' and a rearranged version of the track was later released for the Outsiders' Edition. It became Paloma's first (and so far only) UK #1 single following the success of Sigma's previous hit, "Nobody to Love".

At #3 is Paloma's second ever single and also the highest-placed from her debut album, "New York". A stripped back ballad, in stark contrast to her debut single which was very much in-your-face, this is a beautiful ballad with Paloma singing about a lover leaving her to move to New York City. It's one of my earliest 'favourite songs' of hers and I'm pleased but surprised to see it so high here!

--------------------------

Which means the top two are "Only Love Can Hurt Like This" and "Picking Up the Pieces".

Which will win?!

:o
