Posted October 25, 200618 yr A pretty spiffy little album this is too, best thing CoF have done in quite a while. They've pretty much jettisoned the whole claim to be "Black Metal" now and are concentrating on just being a very good Metal band with Gothic and Operatic overtones. The lyrics are as demented and ludicrously overblown as usual, Dani's lyrical concerns are an extension of Byron, De Sade and Thomas De Quincey's collective lunacy... The music is far more focussed now, CoF's past couple of albums have tended to wander a bit. This is a much tighter CoF than we've heard in a long time... But I have no idea why CoF have decided to cover Heaven 17's "Temptation", it blatantly has no place on this album.... Perhaps they just did it because they could, I seriously hope they have no actual intentions of releasing it as a single.... So, 11 good tracks (at least a half dozen of which are BLINDING..) and one that has no business even being on the same album, not even as a joke...
October 25, 200618 yr Temptation sounds awful, well mainly his voice. I've only heard one other song which I didn't like.
