April 7, 20187 yr Surely the quantity, more than the origin, is what some people object to? don't see Brexiters mentioning that closer ties to the rest of the world invariably means opening it up to immigration (see UK immigration rates from The Rest Of The World now, in the past, and historically, as shown by your link) and as demanded already by our sole-likely-so-far future-trade-partner Australia. In fact they went out of their way to not mention it all, insinuating that it was hordes of EU people living on benefits with Turkish rapists on the way. You know, lies..... The only difference is they have an Aussie accent instead of a Polish accent. More non-Europeans are in the UK, more enter the UK each year, and nothing our very anti-immigration PM has done, despite her vans and rhetoric, has changed a thing for the part of immigration she has control over, and has had control over for 7 years. The hilarious thing is Brexiteers finding out they've swapped low-paid and skilled Polish workers for low-paid and skilled workers from the rest of the world, only without any of the EU advantages (like being able to recharge NHS medical costs, no tarrifs, cheap goods).
