WELCOME TO THE BATTLE ROYALE!

Two power decades 90s and 00s will be pit against each other to show who will really come out on top. Both are iconic decades for different reasons, but now we put the music of both head-to-head to see who will emerge victorious! Who will be the it girl of the Nineties, and who will be feeling a little bit Noughties? YOU decide!

Now this spin-off is going to work a little different than most...

As a nation you will need submit an entry for BOTH decades - 90s and 00s. You will then pick a number between 1-50. Each of these numbers have a decade attached to them which will decide which decade you'll be representing. Half of the nations will represent 90s, and half 00s. The FUN part is - you won't know what song will represent you until the grand entry reveal once confirmations are closed - so make sure you are confident in your choices!

ENTRY GUIDELINES:
- 90s entries must've been released between 01-01-1990 and 31-12-1999
- 00s entries must've been released between 01-01-2000 and 31-12-2009
- We MAY consider entries that are just outside of these guidelines if they were reissued or came to prominence within the period we have and are widely regarded as songs of these decades.
- Your entry must not be a track by an artist with an Artist Forum on Buzzjack.
- Your entry must not have been sent to a previous BJSC contest or BJSC Spinoff.
- More than one entry by the same artist will not be allowed.
- Songs with NOTABLE Buzzjack prominence (i.e. consistent Record Of The Decade smashes) or SIGNIFICANT real-life impact (that may put their song at an unfair advantage) may not be permitted.
- We as the mods reserve the right to refuse any entry that we feel is not in the spirit of the contest.

MOD NOTE: Please try and use this contest as an opportunity to relive and reintroduce a perhaps forgotten classic, or song that is important to YOU, as a representation of your nation. We are leaving this as an open theme, so please don't take advantage of this by using it as a Veto-less BJSC contest. We want a good but FAIR fight to be had!

DEADLINE: 13.04.2018; 23:59 BST

Ooh I really like this concept!! It makes a lot more sense than the last 'vs.' spinoff we had which just ended up being far more Japan than South Korea. Exciting.
My planned 104 entry would be perfect for the 90s side of this! But I'll get hunting for something else and also a noughties song. Super hyped! :cheer:
That is a genius way of balancing the two sides of the versus! I'll have to get thinking what two entries to send in.

YES YES YESSSS!!!

I shall take a look and see what I could conjure up! :D

So excited though

oooh this is interesting, I've got a few 90s house songs that I could go with but I need to hunt for 00s

Okay I've taken a trip into the archives and I'm soooo excited to send either of these songs! Eurodance for 90s and then a pop stomper for the noughties with an English chorus and Persian verses *.* Jadakissnia confirming right now <3

New spinoff nationality either way as I'll be representing Germany or Iran, yay!

Gone for some classic dance for the 90s and a RnB bootyshaker for the 00s. Although they're both from 1998 and 2000 so really it feels like they ought to be from the same era but here's to technicalities
The only downfall of this is POTATO quality music videos galore  having to send an HQ studio version instead of the music vid for my noughties song haha.

I have a few songs I have in mind so I will have a think about which ones to send.

Unless 50 countries enter,I'm not sure how you could ensure each decade will have the same number. Say if 34 enter,20 might pick a number allocated to the 90s and 14 might pick a 00s number.

There's nothing stopping people from picking the same number as someone else anyway so it's probably not gonna turn out to be exactly 50/50, hopefully it'll be something close to that though.

I'm gonna have to have a think about what to send to this, it's such a broad 'theme' and yet I don't have any immediate ideas

Interested, but I'll have to find something for 90s  I have a main contest potential for 00s and I'm thinking if I don't get that in this, I can just send it to main contest, but idk if I want to "waste" such a wide spin-off on that... Decisions.
I confirmed! A great little upbeat piano house track for the 90s that I'm kinda worried might be too well known cus my 90s dance knowledge is v limited, but it only peaked at 30 so idk, and a groovy drum n bass tune for 00s that I've listened to like twice but it's already so stuck in my head
ok I reconfirmed, I actually checked BJSC this time lmaooo, went with an amazing trance banger this time, like 95% sure it won't get vetoed but idk

Actually thought of a couple of songs I'd be happy with already so confirming now! (I'll definitely be hoping for one of them over the other but they're both fab).

My 00s choice is super well-known within its genre but I don't thiiiink it'll be something everyone will know already on BuzzJack (although I imagine there will be a fair few who know of it). My 90s choice is more uninspired than I usually am with these contests as well but hey, I'm sure most people aren't gonna be going that inspired so I'll allow it this time xx

(BEAUTIFUL graphics as ever btw Leww!! almost goes without saying but ye)
