Club Bizarre is officially re-open! For the third volume we will be exploring the genre of deep house and its sub-genres future house and tropical house. :dance:

We liked the deep house suggestion and thought it would be worth widening it to include future house and tropical house, two recently developed sub-genres derived from deep house not big enough to hold a contest of their own but would fit right in here.

Please read the rules before submitting.

RULES
1. Your song must fall into the umbrella of deep, future or tropical house. The song must be in the spirit of the theme. Tropical pop disguising as tropical house will be vetoed, for example.
2. Your song must have been released within the past ten years (i.e. nothing released before 2008). We are not looking for classic deep house this time, we want to keep it up to date for a change.
3. Your song must not be well-known to the Buzzjack community. We want discoveries, so don't send anything that was a big chart hit or former BJSC entry. Popular artists will not necessarily get vetoed if the song is deemed to not be well-known. If you are in doubt about your song, send it anyway and it will get vetoed if we think it is veto-worthy. Entries will be vetted by Dobbo and myself.
4. You must PM me (danG) with the following details:

5. This is an anonymous contest. You may not reveal or hint at your entry until after I have revealed you in the results thread.

Which of the three sub-genres to send will be a tough decision, let alone what song to enter - so you have a whole week to decide on your entry. Confirmations will close Saturday 14th April, 23:59 BST.

Was going to go with house in general but that's probably way too broad, hope you all like deep/future/tropical :heart: ('just house' can be saved for another time, also I'd love one on progressive house and another for electro house!)

 

I am intrigued as to which of the three we'll be getting the most of :o (a choice of three sub-genres for volume number three!)

I'll have a hunt for something for this soon, damn at funky house not being an option because I actually had something I could send for that :lol: but alas I don't have any songs from these 3 genres immediately to hand.

 

Casually gonna have 3 BuzzJack contests ongoing while I should be focusing on coursework again :kink:

I was thinking of lumping in funky too but funky's big enough to hold a contest of its own tbh, plus I wouldn't want to deny Snakey the chance of hosting it :kink:

But I'll have a look for this - these genres make me groan these days but I'm sure there's some good examples outside the charts.

So I'm interested in joining up. Completely missed both of the previous runs which unfortunately were both dance genres I have more affinity with than this one. :lol:

I found two brilliant potentials for this about an hour ago and genuinely could not choose between them because they were so different. So I asked Bray to pick either the number 1 or 2 for me. My fate is in his hands... :o (I'll just have to keep the other one in my back pocket I guess and hope for another suitable opportunity to arise)

Ehh where to even start. Pressure's on for the hat-trick but would also be a cool for Dan to win this so he'd have a 3-2-1 contest run!

I really can't abide tropical house these days but I think I'm still generally a fan of deep house (Nora En Pure in BJSC being a recent good example) so I imagine I'll be going down that route. I'll try and find something tomorrow or so ~

It's about as big an umbrella as trance was really (well trance is probably even bigger, there's lots of different types of trance), we want themes to be reasonably wide so not all the entries sound the same.
