Posted October 26, 200618 yr Here's my two cents about the album, going through song-by-song. Sweet Sacrifice I think this is a great start to the album. Some really gripping lyrics and some catchy use of guitar. Call Me When You're Sober Took me a while to get used to. It's no 'bring me to life' but It's still a great song. I love the use of strings in the background during the second part of each verse just before the bridge. Kick-ass video too. Weight of the World Great introduction. This is quite a catchy song, but not one of the best on the album IMO. Lithium I love this song so much, and really hope it does well as a single. The use of strings is great, I love the vocals and I love the lyrics too. A fantastic ballad. Cloud Nine This sounded pretty similar to Weight of the World IMO. Nothing really stood out to me in this song, except I love the "Guess it wasn't real after all" and I love the third verse "Will you give your love to me?" Great lyrics in this. Snow White Queen WAS one of my least faavourites to begin with. The creepy sound at the beginning really put me off, but as it's about the stalker she had I guess the sound represents the situation perfectly. I love the lyrics in this song, and the third verse, and the use of strings in the bridge. However, I think the chorus is awfully bland and could have been better with a bit more creativity. Lacrymosa My favourite on the album. It's so epic - the choir, the orchestra. From the trailer, I did expect it to be a bit heavier and a bit longer.. the first bit was slower than I expected. When the sound of the electric guitars kicks in during the second verse, it's a real BOOM after a climatic slide from the voilin. Greaaat song. Like You Really gave me the chills when I first heard this. The lyrics are so disturbing and so open, it choked me up a little. A fantastic song, really written from the heart. Lose Control Again, was one of my least favourites, but now I love it. The guitar in this is just sexual. I think the whole mood of this song is pretty sexual. Very unusual for Evanescence, but I love it. The Only One Gives me a bit of an army feel when I l listen to this. I think it's quite a catchy song, and a strong one on the album. The lyrics are great and the third verse is my favourite part of this song.. "Don't look down, You'll become the sacrifice" Your Star To be honest, I think this is quite a weak song on the album. I like the guitar but the first minute of it bores me a little. All That I'm Living For Not too keen on the chorus, but the verses are ace! The use of strings and the lyrics are great in this song. Good Enough Fantastic piano piece, but mighty hard to play. I love the fact she can write music feeling totally different and can still pull it off. A great finish to the album. The Last Song I'm Wasting on You Made me cry on first listen. Great use of piano and really heart-wrenching lyrics. Can see why it didn't make the album, as it's not catchy enough, but it's a great B-side
