Lucie Silvas is an artist that creeps up on you. Not in a scary, serial killer way, but in that she's been around for quite a while now, and is slowly beginning to make her mark upon the charts and the industry. She's played with Gary Barlow, written for Will Young, and yet she's still not very well known. Perhaps this is time for things to change?

Silvas' new single 'Last Year' isn't hugely revelatory but it does give her a firm standing in the world of solo female singer-songwriters. It's a nice track, and she's got a nice voice. Although this is possibly not enough to gain a worldwide following just yet, everyone has to start somewhere, and Silvas has been working her arse off to try and achieve her goals in the past few years.

She's not half bad, and every track you hear from her shows some form of improvement. Silvas has great potential - and 'Last Year' is a good track - but something still needs to click for everyone to tap into her sound.

She did actually creep up behind me once, but I saw her out the corner of my eye so stopped her for attempting to scare me! :P

She actually creeped up on me once aswell..SHE JUMPED ON ME! It was so funny tho, she looked like she had been shopping at Netto

She grabbed your neck, I feared for your life at that moment...:o

Lucie should have got Pip to carry all her yellow bags through that park!

She tried to eat me... :o :P

Lmao i really will *never* get those mental images out of my head

I wish we had pictures...because that was really a hilarious moment. Lucie with about 1000 yellow bags swinging them happily and Mia looking like a wet weekend as usual before gigs...

Great interview! I especially love this part

"When I'm drunk, I'm a bit hyperactive and start singing and shouting. I'm never going to be able to function the next day. So, I leave my drunken nights till the last night of the tour. My band love drink, oh my God. You see riders for my tour and people are like 'God, she drinks like a fish', but actually it's my band's fault! They like asking for wine and vodka and beer non-stop, and I don't get to drink any of it. We do stay up late, we don't really get much sleep. It's certainly not a book and a cup of tea but we do have quiet nights as well as heavy nights."

Because I can see the images in my head
