'Come To Daddy'.

Not my personal cup of tea, but I am not gonne argue with such a wicked video like that (and I must atleast give you some brownie points for not choosing the unbelivable $h!te 'Windowlicker' - c**p track, c**p video - so stupidly over-rated!)

"Window Licker" was okay I thought, obviously a total p!ss take of every Rap/R&B video ever made.... But it's nowhere near as class as "Come To Daddy", or his earlier stuff like "Didgeridoo" or "Analogue Bubblebath"....

I find you just have to be in the right frame of mind for Autechre, "Amber" is quite an approachable album... I wasn't too keen Aphex's last double CD "Druqks" (or however it's spelt...), a bit too much chaff amongst the wheat IMO.... "Chosen Lords" however, is utterly divine....

First of all, congratulations Grim for this great top! I found here a lot of songs that I listen to them almost everyday...

I know a lot about good dance/electronic music and I'm glad I found here some favorite songs of mine.

Some comments:

NUMBER 29 - THE SHAMEN - MOVE ANY MOUNTAIN

Classic song, still sounds good

NUMBER 25 - LEFTFIELD - ORIGINAL

This song really blows out your speakers with that amazing bass! A really addictive song and one of the best from the masterpiece called "Leftism".

Another two: "Release the Pressure", "Storm 3000"

NUMBER 24 - THE KLF - WHAT TIME IS LOVE?

I have all The KLF videos and all of them are very well done despite the low budget...

"What Time Is Love?" is so unusual, so "noisy". The KLF were genius; "The White Room" is easyly one of the best dance albums ever made...

Another two: "3AM Eternal", "Last Train to Transcentral"

NUMBER 18 - PRIMAL SCREAM - HIGHER THAN THE SUN

I like "Loaded" more but "Higher Than the Sun" is cool too!

NUMBER 16 - CHEMICAL BROTHERS - STAR GUITAR

Fabulous song & video!

The video and song are in perfect sync. The director is the famous Michel Gondry (director of the music videos of "Massive Attack - Protection", "Daft Punk - Around the World" and many more; BTW where is Daft Punk in your top?!)

Another three: "Block Rockin' Beats", "Galvanize", "Hey Boy Hey Girl"

NUMBER 15 - LADYTRON - SEVENTEEN

I have all their albums (the last - Witching Hour - is the best) and I absolutely love this band!

Another three: "Playgirl", "Destroy Everything You Touch" and the insanely catchy "Evil"

NUMBER 14 - ORBITAL - CHIME

Nice little song...

NUMBER 13 - GOLDFRAPP - STRICT MACHINE

The voice of Alison Goldfrapp is fantastic!

Another four: "Ride a White Horse", "Ooh La La", "Twist", "Number 1"

NUMBER 12 - THE PRODIGY - OUT OF SPACE

I prefer "The Fat of the Land" more...

NUMBER 10 - THE ORB - LITTLE FLUFFY CLOUDS

Ambient masterpiece!

NUMBER NINE - UNDERWORLD - DARK AND LONG (DARK TRAIN MIX)

Amazing tune.

NUMBER SEVEN - ORBITAL - THE BOX

This song sticks to your head like no other song...

Another songs "Belfast", "Sunrise", "The Saint", "One Perfect Sunrise", "Halcyon & On & On" - their best song

NUMBER SIX - DELERIUM - SILENCE (REMIX)

This remix is almost good as the original one...

What do you say about "Serenity", my fave Delerium song?

NUMBER FIVE - FSOL (FUTURE SOUND OF LONDON) - PAPUA NEW GUINEA (FULL VERSION)

What can I say more about one of my all time fave songs? I fact I like all FSOL albums (including the flawless "Lifeforms").

Another two: "Expander (Remix)", "We Have Explosive"

NUMBER 3.5 - FAITHLESS - SALVA MEA

Another favourite band of mine. I like all their albums ("No Roots" and "Reverance" are the best IMO) and I saw them live this year! It was blown away by the energy of this band.

Another five: "Insomnia", "God Is a DJ", "Miss U Less See U More", "I Want More", "Take the Long Way Home"

Bonus: "One Step Too Far" (featuring Dido, the sister of one of the band's members, Rollo Armstrong).

NUMBER THREE - THE JAMMS/KLF - IT'S GRIM UP NORTH

#3 is too much for this song...

NUMBER TWO - LEFTFIELD & LYDON - OPEN UP

Great!

NUMBER ONE - THE APHEX TWIN - COME TO DADDY

Really surpised by your #1 song...

The scariest video ever (?) and an even scary song - that's not for me...

I prefer the early work of Aphex Twin.

I'd like to listen to "On", a simple song...

Edited by han solo

That's a decent top 30 there Grim. Apart from 'Silence' by Delirium of course.... ;)

NUMBER 13 - GOLDFRAPP - STRICT MACHINE

Another four: "Ride a White Horse", "Ooh La La", "Twist", "Number 1"

nooo... Number 1 is the absolute pits - worst Goldfrapp song. Ever. An embarrassment.

Okay, here it is.... And Aly was right.....

NUMBER ONE - THE APHEX TWIN - COME TO DADDY

An absolutely amazing piece of music this is, genuinely fukked up, totally disturbing and really quite sinister... The video by Chris Cunningham is one of the greatest Promo videos ever made, and that is just a fukkin' fact... A true work of art and the absolute perfect marriage of sound and imagery that has ever been committed to film...

The Aphex Twin is one of our true originals, there is absolutely NO ONE who makes or really has ever made music quite like his (you could perhaps count the likes of Merzbow, Alec Empire, Luke Vibert or Alex Paradinas as peers...), his obsessive, compulsive and isolationist approach to music has ensured that he's always stayed streets ahead of anyone else... Oh, and he drives around Cornwall in a TANK!!!

That's amazing. :o I've never seen or heard that before, but I thought I'd give it a listen, and, WOW.
