There's definitely a load of factors at play - a later slot, a Love Island clash and good weather - but even considering all of that, it's a terrible rating really but I can't say it's undeserved. Alarm bells should be ringing at the BBC right now. All they need to do is take a good look at Emmerdale and Corrie for some inspiration...

I’m really not surprised ratings were that shit for the second episode. I imagine most people were put off by the first one which felt incredibly weak.

 

I’m annoyed Jean and Ollie have had to split. Would it have been that difficult to keep Ollie as a regular? Oh well, Jean works single, I guess.

 

The Stuart storyline is horrendous and mainly because of Mick. Why on Earth would he act so judgy over what Stuart did and then go on to give him an alibi? Can Mick just be killed off ASAP?

After catching up with the back end of last weeks episodes...I'm officially done starting from tonight. It's just so, so bad, and I can no longer justify watching it.

Was all about the music for me. The first time I’ve heard Pink’s Whatever You Want getting any kind of airplay, Jean doing the dishes to Las Ketchup and Max and Rainie getting it on to Sex On Fire.

I actually really enjoyed both episodes last night. Lots of focus on characters I actually care about like Donna, Rainie, Carmel and Keegan. Only the shoehorned Mick scene pissed me off (he is the living embodiment of all bad connotations of football).

 

I’m not going to hold my breath because I know we’ll just get treated to another 2 weeks of Stuart being evil and Mick looking stressed about it.

I fastforward any Max scenes. It is non-canon for me. He died on that roof. If the producers didn't fancy him so much, he would be gone. Any other soap, he woulda died, not another female. Also, impossible he would EEEVER EEEEEVER get Abby's baby from her mother AND grandmother AND sister AND cousin. Ridiculous. Max got her killed. They would not uproot the child. Foookin rididuclous. Do they know ANYTHING about child welfare/ social services?? Weell seeing ad they gave a PREMATURE BABY to Max to HOLD, I am guessssing no.
