Me too! I know it's about the baking but we do have to watch these people, so you can't help but want them to not be annoying! I like bakers like Candice and Nadiya, they had their own distinct personality, they weren't perfect *every* time but they went on a bit of a journey and had their ups and downs so that when they had a great week or got Star Baker, it actually felt like a moment for them. It's the same with Kim-Joy this year and it'll be the same if Ruby gets Star Baker. With Rahul he's hardly got anywhere to go because every single week it's the same, he does well, acts like he didn't, and is in contention for Star Baker.

I'm with those who like Rahul. OK, so perhaps he ought to be feeling more confident by now, but it does seem that he's genuinely nervous. A few years ago Richard kept getting Star Baker but didn't seem to attract as much hostility as Rahul.

I'm glad Terry has gone as I found him annoying. I'm getting to like Bryony more by the week and I've always rather liked Manon.

that's because richard had a personality, knew that he was good & accepted praise when it was given and thanked them for it.

rahul has obviously studied baking to be as good as he is so this whole "it's good? really? sorry.." persona is grating on me.

it's obvious he's not an extrovert so i don't know if it's an act, or even if he's playing up to it even more than usual, but it's not hard to see why he has to buy friendship with cake. dullard.

Eek Manon and Ruby in trouble, hopefully Dan slips under as he was bad in the technical and signature but it seems like his showstopper might have been ok :/

Agreed, it's just really grating on me now. I don't care if he actually is like that, it's really really boring to watch at this point. There is absolutely nothing wrong with knowing that, having done basically everything right now for what 6 weeks, you have done something right and you can own that and be proud of it. Richard had that, he did well and knew it and took the praise because he deserved it.

Yas thank god! For a second I thought they were going to send Manon home because of Dan's prior record, but that was really a terrible week that he couldn't come back from and that would've been totally wrong.

Another really satisfying Star Baker, like Kim-Joy last week she really built up to it and it was great to see her finally come out on top <3

Both outcomes were pretty much bang on, for a minute I was a bit worried for Manon. Dan's attempt was pretty much dismal in all 3 challenges.

And if Rahul gets another hand-shake, I probably throw something at my TV :(

I've disliked Dan since his opening VT when it was revealed his kids are called Constance and Barnaby, decided he was a posh twat and haven't warmed to him.

Interesting to see more people seem to be getting bored of the way Rahul is, as this was the first week where I thought it was a bit tiresome, but I don't really feel I can judge when so many anxiety sufferers see the similarities and praise him.

Dan's salmon looked awful! No amount of arguing it's an 'illusion' would make it worthwhile - Prue hit the nail on the head!

Really happy Briony got star baker! I'm really glad it's quite a wide-open year at the moment (bar Rahul) couldn't call who's gonna be in the final!

Yeah it wouldn't have been fair for Dan to stay because he didn't do particularly well in any of the three. Glad Ruby got a handshake too, she knows how to pick things back up when it matters so hopefully one week, if she's still around, she can manage star baker.

There's a Twitter thread with lots of people praising Rahul and assuming he has some sort of anxiety syndrome. If he does, he deserves great credit for taking the plunge and going on the show.

The judges are always meant to judge purely on the performance that week. Otherwise, Richard would have won a few years ago. He would have been so far ahead going into the final that he would have had to poison the judges to miss out. As it was, he didn't perform well on the final weekend so hew didn't win.

OMG best result *.* Thought that editing was pointing to Manon going, but glad to see otherwise. Dan's salmon looked pretty awful and I hated his attitude and his looks towards other bakers when they do better/worse than him. His comment about Manon's bake in the signature was UGH :/

I suspect he may have social anxieties or ASD as well and that's why I admire him as I know only too well myself it can be difficult to properly express yourself and be very self-deprecating and unsure of yourself, even if others are praising you.

Come on Manon Star Baker *.*

It's actually so boring when Rahul does everything perfect, even if he has anxiety I get that ofc and wouldn't diminish it but it's really annoying and boring to watch and cruelly kinda makes me want him to go wrong one week
