Posted August 4, 20186 yr Joanna and Alistair are young parents who travel from Scotland to a town in Australia, to visit family and fight for custody of the husband's daughter, Chloe, against his Australian ex-wife, Alexandra. On the drive from Melbourne to Geelong, their baby son Noah goes missing on a lonely roadside. [1]In the aftermath of the tragedy, under public scrutiny, their marriage collapses and her psychology disintegrates. According to the BBC, “it is the catalyst for a journey into the disintegrating psychology of a young woman, exposing the myths and truths of motherhood.” Coleman has described the experience of reading the script as “like walking a tightrope, racing page to page, unsettling, unknowable, uncomfortable, and thrilling.” The Cry has been adapted by Jacquelin Perske from the popular 2013 novel of the same name by Helen FitzGerald, and is produced by Synchronicity Films. The director is Glendyn Ivin and the producer is Brian Kaczynski. Four part drama series starring Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who, Victoria) and Ewen Leslie (Top of the Lake) coming soon - co-produced between Australia and UK.

September 30, 20186 yr I think this could be good, the first episode is building on everything but everything isnt clear yet. Will def watch again next week.
October 2, 20186 yr Author I saw before that viewers were left confused by flashbacks and thought it was just the usual insert two flashbacks and viewers go into metldown. I wasn’t anticipating the series to jump back forth, flit here, flit there and everywhere! Still really engrossing though and certainly left unsure as to the TRUTH. Surely something happened just before he phoned his daughter to say they were going to have a nap? It showed the tree then it suggested that there was a passage of time but the story seemed to continue on the ‘same time’ and then they had the strange behaviour at their place. Or maybe the ‘3 months 17 days’ and vom was a red herring. Jenna absolutely killed it though, so SO good especially those final few moment omg.
October 8, 20186 yr Author I'm telling you!! Something happened before/around the time they were at that tree and he called his daughter to say they were going to be late. But what and why?? I don't true anyone though, with two episodes left anything can and will happen. I've heard the ending is really unexpected!
October 21, 20186 yr Great ending, great series. Really enjoyed this! I’m left feeling sorry for Jo Being all the way in Australia on her own with no one bar his family for company!
