Posted October 30, 200618 yr Release: OUT NOW Pete Doherty, his band Babyshambles and some friends have got together to cover the classic Clash track 'Janie Jones' to help support 'the music of tomorrow'. The 21 'friends' contributing reads like a who's who of the indie scene, and include former Libertine Carl Barat and his band Dirty Pretty Things, We Are Scientists, Larrikin Love, The Kooks, The Guillemots and Mystery Jets. October 31, 200618 yr I really like it. It's not as good as some of their others but it's a lot better than Dirty Pretty Things have been. I dully expect this to be top 3/5 midweek!
October 31, 200618 yr I'm not quite sure how they managed it, it's somehow simultaneously a total mess and a totally sanitized version of The Clash punk rock classic.... It's one of these things that probably sounded like a fun idea while they were all in the practice studio jamming it.... It should've stayed there IMO.... Joe Strummer is probably spinning in his grave as I write this....
