CACKLING at the thought of Honey Boo Boo

2.) Mackenzie & Sage

3.) Sky & JT

4.) Ariana & Artyon

5.) Akash & Kamri

6.) Alana & Tristan

7.) Miles & Rylee

8.) Sophia & Jake

9.) Mandla & Brightyn

10.) Addison & Lev

11.) Hudson & Kameron

12.) Tripp & Hailey

Also apparently every episode is pre-taped and the studio audience will do a live vote!

I was gonna scream bc it seemed like such a left-field choice for a DWTS dance...

until I remembered it was a Sex And The City reference

Live from Hollywood, it’s the New York City night on DWTS! When I think of New York, I think of Broadway, the Statue of Liberty, and food carts that serve Greek food. How are my East Coasters doing?

-

DeMarcus & Lindsay: Kicking off our night is the first Encore winner of the season! Lindsay loved the energy but it’s a completely different dance this time. We also get to see him FaceTime his family. It’s classy of course, and there’s a really nice drag. Len commends his foot technique. Lindsay notes that they had worked hard about using his leads and he pulled it off.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24. Is Lindsay on track for yet another final?

-

Okay, speaking of Broadway... Mark Ballas is doing Kinky Boots right now! He shares some advice through Skype with a bit of sketchy connections, but all goes well.

-

Danelle & Artem: Artem notes that being blind is a huge challenge for her. At least Marlee & Nyle could see the dance floor and know their markings. Danelle starts panicking with not dancing in hold, so Artem thinks of a genius idea for her to use her cane as a prop. The beginning is so cute, but then she gets a bit lost and despite a nice recovery, the dance didn’t seem to go anywhere. Bruno notes the nice recovery. Carrie Ann also warns her about counting with her mouth.

Scores: 6 | 6 | 6 = 18. I can tell that Artem is going easier on her than with other pros.

-

John & Emma: They have a Charleston this week, yikes. He’s from New York (Westchester County in particular), and he feels some kind of duty to his home state. The entire thing is a cute train station setting. It was clean and precise, a bit on the simple side, but that lift was exquisite and you can tell he’s improved. Carrie Ann compliments his showmanship, while Len wanted more Charleston content.

Scores: 8 | 7 | 8 = 23. John is definitely a huge surprise this season and a lot different from Emma’s usual old guy partners.

-

Nancy & Val: Nancy and Val are New York natives so this seems very natural to them. However, she gets injured halfway through rehearsal week and they gotta work through it. She gets a bit late in one part of the dance but for the most part you can’t even tell that she’s injured. The judges loved it and praised her confidence.

Scores: 7 | 7 | 7 = 21. Clearly that foot didn’t set them back.

-

Alexis & Alan: Tied last week’s highest scores with her second dance. We learn that Alexis took ballet classes when she was young and she gets some pointers from Tiler Peck to help her. This AT is full of tricks and tons of things that could go wrong yet she stayed delicate and kept that ballerina composure. There’s a bit of a wardrobe incident, but they kept it cool. Bruno likes the dichotomy but warns her about the lift.

Scores: 8 | 9 | 8 = 25. She is KILLING IT at the moment!

-

Joe & Jenna: He admits that he got in his head after messing up BIG TIME. Kendall joins them at rehearsal and she’s impressed by his dancing ability. The dance is okay, but halfway through the dance I can feel him overthinking it. That drag was amazing and the musicality was on point. Carrie Ann notices Jenna’s foot come off the ground but loves that they told a story with the dance. It’s still a giant improvement from last time.

Scores: 5 | 6 | 6 = 17. At least the guys were nice.

-

Tinashe & Brandon: Tinashe considers NYC her home away from home. Brandon pulls the “it’s my first season!” card again and he’s starting to get a bit overambitious with the choreography. They get through the simpler choreography and then unleash all the huge tricks that they’ve been working on. Bruno commended the technique. Carrie Ann noted that everything was still there despite the theme being more futuristic.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. We’re already cracking out almost 27’s and it’s only Week 2. Are you sure this isn’t Season 21?

-

Milo & Witney: Milo has had Broadway experience - oh great so he’s basically Jordan Fisher. Witney thinks he can nail the Charleston because he’s young - cue to him losing stamina. The entire thing was SO DYNAMIC and yet so fresh and young. We see some of the ZOMBIES cast on there. The judges noted his control in his legs improved.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. A GIANT score improvement.

-

Mary Lou & Sasha: They get the honor of dancing with the cast of an actual Broadway musical, Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. He takes her behind the scenes and Mary Lou takes the song to heart, saying she wants to find her own natural woman. They dance with some of the cast and it’s another clean performance. Carrie Ann noted that she opened up with her heart.

Okay, (You Make Me Feel Like A) Natural Woman is a pretty overused song for DWTS.

Scores: 8 | 7 | 7 = 22. Sasha’s outfit is giving me Prince Eric vibes.

-

Juan Pablo & Cheryl: There’s a lot more “rules” in quickstep than in his salsa, and he compares himself to Donald Duck. It’s another quick and clean performance. Len tells him to watch his frame. They judges continue to rave about this dance like every other dance tonight. Carrie Ann loved that this quickstep felt more traditional.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. GEEZ. The competition is really getting tough.

-

Evanna & Keo: They have a mission - to come for Len. Keo wants her to have fun with this Samba and go with New York Fashion Week as a theme. Not even five seconds into the dance she comes out guns BLAZING. Carrie Ann commended her inner core, and Len loved how it was a proper Samba.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24 POINTS TO RAVENCLAW. Yay they’re back on track!

-

Bobby & Sharna: Sharna wants him to reign it in a bit... well okay a lot, for this Frank sinatra inspired foxtrot. Hopefully he’s not too crackedt tonight. There’s some bench choreo on there and I thought Sharna almost falls off. The dance starts great... then he starts getting more excited, and he ends up adding some flossing at the end. Not even Sharna was prepared for that! The judges still love him and it’s hilarious.

Scores: 7 | 6 | 7 = 20. If he’s this crackedt with such a classy dance, I can’t wait for tomorrow night.

-

Tomorrow Night: We go from East Coast to West Coast with a tribute to Las Vegas!

Dance Ranking:

9 | 1.) Milo & Witney

9 | 2.) Tinashe & Brandon

9 | 3.) Alexis & Alan

9 | 4.) Evanna & Keo

8 | 5.) Juan Pablo & Cheryl

8 | 6.) John & Emma

7 | 7.) DeMarcus & Lindsay

7 | 8.) Nancy & Val

7 | 9.) Mary Lou & Sasha

6 | 10.) Danelle & Artem

6 | 11.) Joe & Jenna

6 | 12.) Bobby & Sharna

Anything can happen with this season!

Voted For: Alexis & Alan (+3), Evanna & Keo (+3), Tinashe & Brandon (+3), Milo & Witney (+3)

Rewarding good dancing this week!

Watch all Vegas Night dances here!

Live from Hollywood, it’s Vegas night on DWTS! There’s a pretty nice opening dance but it didn’t have the grandeur of Seasom 24. #VegasStronger

-

Juan Pablo & Cheryl: Cheryl tells him that the foxtrot is much slower than the quickstep, and all bets are off for Vegas Bight now that he’s seen as a contender. The dance is glossy and more traditional but it fits the 1920’s theme. Len wanted a stronger frame.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. A total of 52 this time, they’re definitely one pair to look out for.

-

Milo & Witney: They get a surprise video from Celine Dion herself for their Deadpool inspired tango. It’s a bit hard for him to get serious but he can pull it off like Frankie did. They seem to be doing really well with it, and every piece just fell in place. It’s almost like it was calculated. Len commends the musicality but warns him about dancing down.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. Still really good scores despite everything.

-

Danelle & Artem: Artem gets some more insight on Danelle’s condition - she has no central vision and what remaining vision she has is blurred. The troupe really helps her out with the beginning of the dance and then we get to the quickstep. It felt more like Donny Osmond serenading her though. Carrie Ann loved the spacing and her confidence. Danelle also talks about how she’s been working on her eye contact.

Scores: 7 | 6 | 6 = 19. A decent score!

-

Alexis & Alan: It’s another sultry dance for her (unlike the delicate AT ballet), and she’s getting frustrated with not getting the steps right away. She’s having such a good time and there’s a hell of a lot of content! I’M BEYOND WORDS AT THIS POINT. She’s fantastic. The judges can’t stop talking about that last lift.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 25. A grand total of 49. They seem to be having a good time.

-

John & Emma: Another Elvis impersonator dance. Oh boy, we’ll see how well this will go. He apparently has a giant Elvis cover that was on the charts forever ago, and he’s a giant fan. The story is that they’re two rival Elvis impersonators but team up to take on two other Elvis impersonators (with Britt and Morgan as random tourists). It’s a cute dance but nothing too memorable. Carrie Ann wants him to watch his arms.

Scores: 7 | 6 | 7 = 20. There’s a ton of animal impressions going on here.

-

DeMarcus & Lindsay: Lindsay reunited with her old partner Wanya for their Boyz II Men inspired dance. To be honest, I forgot they had a Vegas residency. DeMarcus was in a Boyz II Men tribute boy band back in the day so it’s fun for him. It’s a slower quickstep than I expected, but it’s really cute.

Scores: 8 | 7 | 8 = 23. That segment was basically the Lindsay show, her performance with her old partner and another one of her old winners performing with his new gig.

-

Joe & Jenna: First jazz routine of the night! Joe reveals that he draws out the choreography as a strategy. Ooooookay. He’s extremely late on that first rundown but he picks it up (literally) during that running lift. Bruno likes the story but he wants Joe to gain more courage and follow through on his moves.

Scores: 6 | 6 | 6 = 18. Once again he’s at the bottom of the barrel.

-

Evanna & Keo: The story is that they’re on the road back from Vegas and it’s really hot. I’ve been there. Evanna has so much energy (+ some more Harry Potter references), and it’s honestly kinda cute. I can already see the inner Luna come out (but there’s still some tentativeness in there). It’s fun seeing her open up more. Len disagrees with Carrie Ann and says her timing is on point.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24 POINTS TO RAVENCLAW. Keo getting such good scores on Week 2 warms my heart so much.

-

Bobby & Sharna: Hopefully no more surprises... ah what am I saying? It’s Vegas Night and it’s all about surprises. The dance is all about magicians and it’s so hectic and fast-paced. I’m kinda digging it though! At least we don’t get to see him flossing this time. Carrie Ann wants to see more refinement.

Scores: 7 | 6 | 6 = 19. He seems a bit more... inhibited.

-

Nancy & Val: YES. Another Val-inspired paso doble! Their dance in spired by Cirque du Soleil: KA, and they step into rehearsal with the moving ship. It’s another nice piece, but I see them get tangled a bit for a millisecond. It’s still aggressive and what I expected from a Val paso doble. The judges wanted more shapes.

Scores: 7 | 6 | 7 = 20. Val has been getting rather low scores compared to past seasons.

-

Tinashe & Brandon: Of course why not Britney? They collaborated in Slumber Party, and it’s a nice tribute to her Piece Kf Me tour. OH MY GOD HER LEG KICKS ARE PERFECTION. This is exactly what I expected from a Britney dance. Len challenges the pair to shock him.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. GIVE IT UP FOR TINASHA!!!

-

Mary Lou & Sasha: Mary Lou is feeling the pain of dong four dances in two weeks, but she’s taking it so well. I guess that’s what being a gymnast does. It feels a bit bouncy in places but they’re fun like usual.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24. A fantastic improvement.

-

Elimination Time!

In Jeopardy: John & Emma, Danelle & Artem. And Joe manages to slide past another elimination.

Eliminated: Danelle & Artem. Tom assured them that she has been a joy to have on the show and has been an inspiration to everyone. It still breaks my heart to see Artem continue to flop though.

-

Next Week: The show returns to once a week as Tuesday has been reserved for the American Music Awards! We also get to see the contestants’ most memorable years.

Dance Ranking:

9 | 1.) Tinashe & Brandon

9 | 2.) Alexis & Alan

9 | 3.) Evanna & Keo

9 | 4.) Milo & Witney

8 | 5.) Mary Lou & Sasha

8 | 6.) Juan Pablo & Cheryl

8 | 7.) DeMarcus & Lindsay

7 | 8.) Nancy & Val

7 | 9.) Bobby & Sharna

6 | 10.) John & Emma

6 | 11.) Danelle & Artem

5 | 12.) Joe & Jenna

A solid dance from Bobby means he’s out of the bottom!

Voted For: Tinashe & Brandon (+5), Alexis & Alan (+3), Evanna & Keo (+3), Milo & Witney (+1)

Watch all Most Memorable Year dances here!

Live from Hollywood, it’s Most Memorable Year night on DWTS! We get to know more about them and they display their most memorable years. With engagements, victories, and the Aquarius album cover on the big screen! Also a lot of the DWTS Juniors cast is in the audience to learn. How many times will Carrie Ann burst into tears throughout the episode?

-

scores: Carrie Ann | Len | Bruno

Mary Lou & Sasha: 1984 - The year when Mary Lou won a huge Olympic Gold Medal with a perfect score, she suffered an injury and had to have knee surgery. This is something that proves her resilience to get back up and do what she loves. Sasha really excels in choreographing these softer waltzes; it’s almost as if he’s absorbing their emotion and projecting them onto the dance. It was such a clean dance. Len commends how she used every inch of her body all the way to her thumbs to create shapes.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24. Mary Lou reveals that she didn’t want to reveal that she just had knee surgery and wasn’t 100% to her competitors because it showed a sign of weakness.

-

Milo & Witney: 2018 - A recent high school graduate, his career has been taking off and this is dedicated to his love for entertainment. Zombies was the first movie he had ever done (and one of those movies that had a pretty new cast without any random Disney Channel alums). The dance is energetic and smooth and just full of life, I mean he did a backflip off the judges’ table, hello. The judges raved about it but had some small corrections. Earlier with Erin, he reveals that he had a back injury earlier in the week.

Scores: 9 | 9 | 9 = 27. “Wittles” seems very happy about that score.

-

Nancy & Val: 2006 - Nancy’s family and her settling down has been a three-year journey in the making; from moving to Texas to the birth of her kids, her family has been such an inspiration to her. Lukas Graham help her out with this rumba. It’s rather refreshing to see Val do a more wholesome rumba - it was simple and clean and that was it. Len wanted more hip action, and then moves on to compliment Val’s judging skills.

Scores: 8 | 7 | 7 = 22. Brilliant of course.

-

But first... Maddie Ziegler reveals that she will be dancing with Alexis and Alan for trios night!

-

Alexis & Alan: 2014 - Her mother had been fighting cancer for six months and this commemorates her mother’s passing, which she has talked about before. Alexis wears her mother’s wedding ring as a tribute to her. She manages to dance with so much grace and elegance and even her accents have been fluid and full of emotion. She starts to cry midway through the performance but she pulls through.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. Alexis has mentioned that this was the reason that she entered this show and Alan starts crying.

-

Evanna & Keo: 2006 - Evanna shares such a great love for Harry Potter and she was thrilled to be cast as Luna Lovegood. She had been battling an eating disorder as a kid, and it wasn’t until she started writing to J.K. Rowling that she found meaning her life. Unfortunately, she’s wearing shoes unlike Luna in her first appearance. It starts off slow and gentle and immediately picks up as the song goes on. Bruno loved that she was engulfed into her character.

Evanna revealed that J.K. didn’t know that she auditioned for the role of Luna during the open call for Order Of The Phoenix and one of her letters was her actual reaction.

Scores: 9 | 9 | 9 = 27 POINTS TO RAVENCLAW. Keo is literally screaming - he’s never gotten scores this high this early.

-

Joe & Jenna: 2018 - Joe had questioned his relationship status and admitted he had commitment issues, but he met Kendall on Bachelor In Paradise and everything changed after that. He mentions that he gets nervous and blacks out before his dances but she reassures him that that’s how he was on Paradise and that’s who she fell in love with. I see him scurrying through every note and it’s almost as if he doesn’t change his expression throughout. Other than that, it’s better than his previous dances. Carrie Ann commends his timing, but the judges agree that his dancing is a work in progress.

Scores: 6 | 6 | 6 = 18. He’s still a far cry from the rest of the pack. I wonder how he will fare later on when he’s six points behind the next lowest score at the moment.

-

Juan Pablo & Cheryl: 1999 - He moved from his hometown in Buenos Aires to LA to chase his dreams. He had been bullied before for being a more artistic fellow (toxic masculinity is the f*cking worst). He realized his passion during a production of Grease and later went on to dancing with Meryl Streep in Mamma Mia!, and Cheryl decides to do a Samba because it’s a celebration. This is probably the most dynamic dance any of Cheryl’s partners have done since Emmitt Smith in All Stars. They get a standing ovation from Len and Bruno calls this the best Samba he’s seen.

Scores: 10 | 10 | 10 = 30. THE FIRST PERFECT SCORE AND IT’S ONLY WEEK 3. This guy just got a free ticket to the finale.

-

John & Emma: 2016 - there was a river flood that destroyed his and his mother's house and the one that got him through everything was his girlfriend Alicia. Later that year his mother died. Throughout his rehearsal package he states that he had always found hope through her. Emma has this idea of using a white rose to commemorate his mother’s life. For some reason... I feel calm watching this dance. The judges saw some instability in hold but loved the emotion of the dance.

Scores: 7 | 7 | 7 = 21. He’s still pretty emotional about the entire thing.

-

Bobby & Sharna: 1998 - he was a first generation high school graduate. His mother was a teenage mom, his dad left when he was little and his closet was under his couch. He found the importance of education and inspired his mom to get her GED. And while she died from drug abuse in his 40’s, he knew how much he influenced her. This dance encapsulates his childlike energy very well. He wants those who were like him to know that if he can do this, that they can.

Scores: 8 | 7 | 8 = 23. This was much better than his usual dances.

-

Tinashe & Brandon: 2014 - the release of Aquarius. For her, the album was such a huge deal for her because she had only released mixtapes before. She had her parents’ support throughout her entire experience, and Brandon decides to do a rumba to 2 On. I’M SO READY FOR THIS. Her extensions are literal PERFECTION. It was so slick and I had my eyes fixated onto her through the entire thing. Len loved that there were still traditional steps and still added a modern twist. Bruno commended her tonality and her ability to develop and shape her lines.

Scores: 9 | 9 | 9 = 27. Tied with Evanna! Tinashe continues to compliment Brandon and talk about how he opened her mind to so many dance styles.

-

DeMarcus & Lindsay: 2016 - Super Bowl. The same one that had Von Miller from Season 22. So another thing Witney and Lindsay share. He and his wife had trouble having a child in the past, so he adopted his daughter and later on was blessed with a son of his own. For him, seeing his family cheering him on was all he needed. The Argentine Tango starts with a giant toss into the air and then gets to the nitty gritty. There’s another huge lift but other than that it’s a pretty simple dance.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. Another smashing performance.

-

Elimination Time!

In Jeopardy: Nancy & Val, Tinashe & Brandon. Oh god here comes the fearmongering.

Eliminated: Nancy & Val. WOW. Val’s worst placing since his debut. Really was expected but I feared that they were gonna make it to final 6 because Val’s fandom carried her.

-

Next Week: Trios night! Just like Season 25, the couples get to dance with another DWTS alum!

Dance Ranking:

10 | 1.) Juan Pablo & Cheryl

10 | 2.) Evanna & Keo

10 | 3.) Tinashe & Brandon

9 | 4.) Alexis & Alan

9 | 5.) Milo & Witney

9 | 6.) Mary Lou & Sasha

8 | 7.) DeMarcus & Lindsay

8 | 8.) Bobby & Sharna

7 | 9.) Nancy & Val

7 | 10.) John & Emma

6 | 11.) Joe & Jenna

Already three dances that deserved 10’s! This has got to be my favorite season since Season 19.

Voted For: Juan Pablo & Cheryl (+4), Evanna & Keo (+4), Tinashe & Brandon (+3)

Omg does that mean Tinashe was bottom 2 or do they just call them in whatever order??

Omg does that mean Tinashe was bottom 2 or do they just call them in whatever order??
”In Jeopardy” doesn’t usually mean bottom 2. It’s normally a ploy from production to get the GP to vote for them bc they’re not getting the votes in comparison to other front runners. She’s probably getting votes anyway, but it’s probably just scare tactics because it’s happened with future finalists before (Frankie Muniz being the latest example).

Live from Hollywood, it’s DWTS Juniors! Ten couples are left and Jordan and Frankie have never been more adorable. This time, the kids are dancing to songs from the year they were born, so get ready to feel old.

-

scores: Val | Mandy | Adam

Mackenzie & Sage: 2004 - Gleb wants them to focus on the judges’ critiques. Kenzie says she’s trusting Sage and Gleb more, even if Gleb is more of a dad to her. Sage is looking like someone Jahq and Joseph would starve after. It’s also very clear that Kenzie is trying to relearn her dance skills. Adam’s glad that there’s more content. Mandy says she’s a new girl.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24. That’s... what I expected.

-

Sky & JT: 2008 - Her salsa was my favorite of the night, and they got one of the highest scores in 22/30. Alan is SO CUTE as a mentor! Sky is uber cute as well. The dance starts off with the two of them doing backflips and then they get into the technique. Their personality is SHINING. Mandy commends her face.

Scores: 7 | 7 | 8 = 22. Sky lets out a small squeal.

-

Sophia & Jake: 2008 - There’s a cute exchange from the two and Sasha is as excited as ever, even with the generational gap. Her form is actually pretty good and Jake is doing a fine job in leading her. Mandy wants more movement using her back muscles. Adam loved the performance but he wanted more.

Scores: 7 | 6 | 7 = 20. It’s a cute score. Jordan shouts out the Scottie Pippen fans.

-

Jason & Elliana: 2008 - Jason’s having a blast despite the 6’s. They get Metro Station’s “Shake It”, a song that I normally associate with Jennifer and Derek’s jive. Jason gets hit in the head during rehearsal but everything is all good. There’s more content but it’s just as fun. The assisted side aerial was also cool. Mandy thinks Jason has a lot of poise and carries himself well.

Scores: 7 | 7 | 7 = 21. Much better!

-

Mandla & Brightyn: 2005 - Mandla and Brightyn are a year apart, as opposed to Cheryl who was born in the 80’s. Much of the rehearsal package is mainly about how fast the dance is, and it looks like the dance was sped up 25% on youTube. Val wanted more content but commended the performance.

Scores: 7 | 7 | 8 = 22. Still pretty good scores.

-

Hudson & Kameron: 2008 - HAYLEY NEEDS TO BE A PRO. NOW. They make up superhero names and it’s all cute. A Paso Doble to Madonna is a bit off but there’s so much content in this. Hudson embraces the style and Kami’s front aerial was breathtaking. The judges are raving over it and honestly I don’t blame them. They’re an unexpected pair. Adam wants him to loosen up more.

Scores: 7 | 8 | 7 = 22. They’re much better that what I thought, hopefully he gets to show more of his chops next week.

-

Miles & Rylee: 2004 - Their salsa was FANTASTIC, and they’re doing an Argentine Tango to the One Tree Hill theme song. Lindsay comments that they have a hard time staying serious. This already feels like an actual DWTS performance! Mandy commends Miles for controlling the dance and making it his own.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24. I never noticed that Rylee was taller than Miles!

-

Alana & Tristan: 2005 - I have a feeling that it’s Don’t Cha and... Sabrina was robbed, I’m just Gonna say that. Artem is pretty patient with her to a tee but Alana wants to prove that she listens to him. She tackled the content like a CHAMP. Adam loved the strutting. Mandy wants her to take a breath before each move.

Scores: 6 | 6 | 7 = 19. Nice all around.

-

Akash & Kamri: 2010 (!!!) - Witney wants him to exude swag. Their isolations were on point and once they got into the Cha Cha, it was light and fresh. There were some timing issues though. He’s so cute answering to the judges. Adam loves that he performs with his heart.

Scores: 7 | 7 | 7 = 21. So many 21’s.

-

Ariana & Artyon: 2007 - Ariana gets her confessionals mixed up with is cute. I LOVE how full of energy Artyon is. Her flicks were on point and she’s getting the personality right. Ariana rushes into Jordan’s arms after the dance. Mandy thinks they raised the bar, and Val considers them contenders.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24. And just like that they’re tied with Kenzie.

-

Elimination Time!

And the couple leaving this week is... Hudson & Kameron!

I kinda expected this, not a lot of people know him and his audience is more those who watch daytime TV. It just kinda sucks that this is pre-recorded because he would have made it pretty far in a live season. Still can’t wait to see Hayley as a pro.

-

Dance Ranking:

9 | 1.) Miles & Rylee

9 | 2.) Ariana & Artyon

8 | 3.) Sky & JT

8 | 4.) Mackenzie & Sage

7 | 5.) Akash & Kamri

7 | 6.) Jason & Elliana

7 | 7.) Mandla & Brightyn

7 | 8.) Alana & Tristan

Live from Hollywood, it’s Trios night on DWTS! Just like last season, we get a random star dancing with each couple! Which explains why Maddie Ziegler and Jordan Kimball are there. And it gives the show another excuse to shoehorn Rashad into everything. I can already tell I’m not gonna like this idea one bit.

-

scores: Carrie Ann | Len | Bruno

Juan Pablo & Cheryl: FIRST PERFECT SCORE. So what will he pull off for this week? His Trio partner is All Stars champion Melissa Rycroft! One of my all time favorites! There’s a bit of confusion with what to do and he feels the pressure of dancingnwith two people. The flip went through without a hitch, and so does the straddle split. There’s not much else going on even with that. Len wanted more content, Carrie Ann felt that he was holding back but it worked for the dance.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24. Melissa talks about how she felt a lot of pressure coming back but she did them proud.

Tinashe & Brandon: She wants to show a different side of her because they were in jeopardy last week. She’s dancing with Paralympian Amy Purdy, and she’s not dancing with Derek. Tinashe considers Amy an inspiration because she does so much with two prosthetic legs. There’s a lot of dancing in hold, and the leg slide works. Everything else was clean. The only problem I have is that the tango just doesn’t work as a trio style. Carrie loved Brandon’s choreography, and Len noted the difficulty of staying in hold during a trio.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. At least she’s consistent.

-

John & Emma: He’s dancing with a graying (!!!) Joey Fatone who kinda looks like Negan in that outfit. John loves the vibe with Joey. The first few seconds were a bit rusty... and then Joey comes in and it starts to pick up. Then it gets slow and picks up again. It’s a nice dichotomy. They also toss her up in the air which is nice. It’s very obvious that he’s improving. The judges saw that there was a slip up in the beginning but they loved the dance.

Scores: 7 | 7 | 7 = 21. The only thing they’re talking about is the weave getting stuck. There’s also a cute “bye bye bye” moment.

-

Evanna & Keo: It’s a Ravenclaw/Slytherin reunion as her good friend Scarlet Byrne (aka Pansy Parkinson) joins her for a bewitching salsa. The rehearsal is just TOO CUTE, with Scarlet complimenting Evanna’s laugh. It’s impressive to see Scarlet dancing at the same level as Evanna when she doesn’t have that much ballroom experience. Len loved that there was a lot of Salsa content with the performance. Bruno and Carrie Ann noted that the trio were off sync.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 8 = 24 POINTS TO RAVENCLAW/SLYTHERIN! Scarlet is in awe of Evanna’s growing confidence.

-

DeMarcus & Lindsay: So... once again we see Rashad on the floor. That’s four seasons in a row already. DeMarcus disclocates his finger during the first meeting and it’s the most disturbing thing I have seen. You can’t really tell that he had to pop his finger in place a while ago. The Paso is very intricate and Lindsay made sure to highlight both dancers. DeMarcus gets to push Rashad out of the way as well which was nice. The judges felt that they need more shapes, and Carrie Ann notes DeMarcus was trying to match Rashad too much. Len thought that there needed to be more ferocity in the arms.

Scores: 7 | 7 | 8 = 22. Hopefully DeMarcus will be 100% next week. And OMG RASHAD’S BODY.

-

Mary Lou & Sasha: Nastia used to dance with Sasha back in Season 20 and she’s seen as a daughter to Mary Lou. She’s not getting the steps as fast as the other two and she’s hard on herself but they’re so caring. This may be the first dance where I see Mary Lou’s potential as a dancer. She’s noticeably clean! There’s also a lot of cool lifts... I didn’t know Sasha was that strong! The judges enjoyed that dance.

Scores: 9 | 8 | 9 = 26. Currently the highest score of the night!

-

Milo & Witney: Riker Lynch has some connections to Disney with being on R5 (a Radio Disney STAPLE), so it fits Milo to a tee. Milo feels motivated with Riker in the studio with him. Now THIS IS A TRIO DANCE! They’re on fire, they were in sync, and just about everything was PERFECT. Bruno loved the small details in the dance, but Len wanted more hip action.

Scores: 10 | 9 | 10 = 29. Yeah I just KNEW that was gonna be good. Definitely justifying me picking him to win.

-

Joe & Jenna: It’s a salsa with Jordan Kimball... oh god I know this is gonna be a mess. Joe reveals that he picked the song, and the two of them are utter goofballs. Jenna teases a surprise at the end. So Joe takes off his shirt with no hitch, and Jordan butchers it. There’s also the pros ripping their shirts off and the boys getting into the showers.

This is officially the campiest routine I have ever seen on Dancing With The Stars. Not even the Magic Mike dances were this campy.

Bruno saw total timing issues, and Carrie Ann commended Jenna for being a good sport. Len was absolutely speechless. Oh my god.

Scores: 5 | 5 | 5 = 15. I’M HIGHKEY SCREAMING. We also get a glimpse of Gleb and Val dancing in the shower shelf.

-

Alexis & Alan: They’re dancing to a Sia song and Maddie is their trio partner because OF COURSE SHE IS. It’s girls against guys during this rehearsal as they go after Alan for his coaching. I don’t think I’ve seen someone behind two people doing a tango like what Alan just did. I’m feeling their energy and they do absolutely AMAZING. Carrie Ann wanted them to dance as one during the tango section, and Len wanted her to improve her hold.

Scores: 8 | 8 | 9 = 25. Alexis and Maddie form a bit of banter on Alan’s Link-sounding teaching grunts.

-

Bobby & Sharna: Bobby’s pumped to have Lindsey Stirling on the team, and they’re pretty dorky together. OMG HIS HAMMER PANTS. This is as dorky as they come and it’s so full of personality! However, I’m not seeing a ton of Cha Cha content.

A STRAY TYLER AND ANGELA FROM BB20 IN THE AUDIENCE!!!

Bruno thought he wrecked that performance, but the judges’ consensus was that there wasn’t much content.

Scores: 7 | 6 | 7 = 20. It’s still a very hectic dance. Wow.

Elimination Time!

In Jeopardy: Evanna & Keo, Tinashe & Brandon. What even is this?!?! And how does Joe skate through every single week?!

Eliminated: Tinashe & Brandon?!?! ARE YOU KIDDING?!?! I can’t believe we’ve gotten to the point where we have a worse elimination than Sabrina Bryan. Freaking Bobby and Joe got farther than her.

I don’t understand the voting anymore. It’s like the viewers want this damn show to get cancelled by voting out the best dancers. If that’s so, DeMarcus better watch out because he had a lower score than average.

#DWTSSoWhite Also Brandon is winning next season

Next Week: It’s a double dose of Disney Night! DWTS Juniors will pull most of the weight as hopefully Ariana will slay, and then we’ll see how much damage control the main show needs to do.

I can already see this being the American version of when Aston Merrygold’s elimination was considered racist, except this is racist and sexist
Why am I not even surprised? Possibly the best dancer but ofc a confident female goes this early regardless of scores :drama:

More like a “judges’ save”, because way too often are two good dancers stuck in jeopardy while the bottom of the barrel slides through undeterred. Idk, maybe we’ll have a repeat of last year’s “Bonner, you didn’t deserve to stay over Nancy” from Len.
