April 1, 200619 yr "Groans" - This is the old Wikipedia list. As I remember from last time it is riddled with errors & inaccuracies. Most famously the Nana Mouskouri sales (which are c. 10times what they should be).
April 1, 200619 yr Yes the Wikipedia site have taken the list away now due to people editing it all the time. And for it to say that The Beach boys and the Who had only sold 40 million is laughable
April 1, 200619 yr Author Who compiled it? As they aren't very accurate how did they even get these figures?
April 1, 200619 yr That list is different everytime i see it cause people keep editing it. Michael Jackson has not sold 350 million and Elvis and the Beatles have both Sold an estimated Billion.
April 1, 200619 yr This is so wrong, everything is so inflated, and yes that includes Mariahs total too, she has sold considerably less, about 170m, very roughly, nowhere near that dramatically inflated total, same goes for the others too, I know Madonna has sold a LOT less too, the world biggest selling female is Nana Mouskouri, i'm not sure by how much but I know she is definately the worlds biggest selling female.
April 1, 200619 yr Everything on there looks about double their actual totals. :P I agree but some of it is far to low. John Lennon, Beach Boys and The Who have all sold well over 40 million and Robbie has sold 44 million yet does'nt feature on the list  And i also remember when Kylie Best of was released last year that she had sold over 40 million so that 65 million is rediculous
April 1, 200619 yr Yeah britney spears hasnt sold 85 million, it was just announced that her total worldwide album sales just broke 80,000,000 in January. Still so proud of her though :cheer:
April 1, 200619 yr WOW. I had no idea Britney had sold 80 million. I thought it was about 60 million or so.
April 1, 200619 yr I thought Kylie had done around 30 million actually, I'll be pleased if it is 40 million as you can imagine. :D
April 1, 200619 yr I thought Kylie had done around 30 million actually, I'll be pleased if it is 40 million as you can imagine. :D Well i recall hearing it on CDUK a last year sometime. When they were announcing the chart they mentioned that Kylie had sold over 40 million :D
April 2, 200619 yr Author This is so wrong, everything is so inflated, and yes that includes Mariahs total too, she has sold considerably less, about 170m, very roughly, nowhere near that dramatically inflated total, same goes for the others too, I know Madonna has sold a LOT less too, the world biggest selling female is Nana Mouskouri, i'm not sure by how much but I know she is definately the worlds biggest selling female. Oh I guess it wasn't you who originally posted it then! :P
April 2, 200619 yr I am so surprised about some artists but Westlife will get into this list with their next album.
April 3, 200619 yr WOW. I had no idea Britney had sold 80 million. I thought it was about 60 million or so. Well these are her worldwide sales... ...Baby one more time - 24.2 million Oops...I did it again - 19 million Britney - 12.4 million In the zone - 7.9 million Greatest hits: My preogative - 8.1 million B in the mix: The remixes - 510K (very good for no promo) + ---------------------------------- 72 million But thats not including the shipped amount as these are copies that have been bought from retailers. I got that from billboard a month ago, so its very believable that those 6 albums considering their expectations have more than 8 million shipped unbought copies all over the world.
April 3, 200619 yr What i find strange is that anastacia has sold more then britney in europe (beleive it or not) but britney can sell up to 80 million (which is brilliant) so im guessing it must be america where she sells the most
