October 29, 20186 yr Author After Mikolas Josef gave the country its best ever result at Eurovision in Lisbon (still robbed of a top 5 placing if you ask me), Czechia will be once again using their online selection process. The entry will be chosen by the end of January. You can read more here: https://eurovoix.com/2018/10/28/czech-repub...end-of-january/
December 20, 20186 yr This is currently strongly rumoured to be in the Czech National Final line-up eIhh9Q6f090
December 22, 20186 yr I could get on board with that. It’s not “Lie to Me” levels of good but it’s catchy and modern and would still be the second best Czech entry (and it’s better than the non-“Lie to Me” songs from the selection this year from what I remember) This time the selection will consist of eight entries and according to Mikolas’ Instagram, there will be four solo females, three males and a group, with the entries set to be released on January 7th
January 7, 20196 yr These are the eight acts Hana Barbara Tomáš Boček Andrea Holá Pamela Koky Lake Malawi feat. Albert Černý Barbora Mochowa Jakub Omdra Jara Vymer The songs (including "Space Sushi") are available to listen to in a playlist
January 7, 20196 yr I can't at Barbora clearly channelling Lana del Rey there. It's not even like she's hiding it
January 7, 20196 yr The Barbora video literally looks like a tribute to Lana and she's miming one of her songs  Unsurprisingly I do quite like it but I'm not sure it'd work at Eurovision unless she has good stage presence or they create the right mood with the staging. Space Sushi is so trend-chasing and the bizarre title will draw people in - but it does have potential and it would be another qualifier at least for the Czechs!
January 7, 20196 yr Barbora is my third favourite of what we have here and it has more potential than most of the others IMO, but I could easily see it going the way of something like "Blackbird" for Finland if they were to choose it. Lake Malawi is my second favourite, it's...interesting.. and undeniably one of the most stand-out entries. But I'm rooting for "Space Sushi" as nothing else has surpassed that for me.
January 7, 20196 yr Author Considering the title of the song is 'Space Sushi', the song itself is boringly bland. Seemingly the theme in this selection. I'm thinking Barbora Del Rey is probably their best bet. I can't even say maybe they'll be better live because of course, we won't know until we have the winner!
January 20, 20196 yr That Space Sushi (wtf is that title) song is boring as anything, so Spotify fodder. Lake Malawi are probs my faves but I'm hugely enarmored by any of them to be honest in this selection :/
January 28, 20196 yr After a tense jury vote that ended in a tie, it came down to Czech voters and Lake Malawi won :D
January 28, 20196 yr Yaas, as I said I wasn't that fussed on any but that was my fave! Could not be bothered with that Lana Del Rey pastiche :drama:
January 28, 20196 yr Author I kinda lived for the YouTube fan competition style results video, makes a nice change from usual 87 hour national finals. wQkIUHxC1eo The song has grown on me a little and was probably their best choice, thank goodness the jury sank 'Space Sushi', that would've been disastrous.
January 28, 20196 yr Lake Malawi are fantastic and I love the song apart from the 'I'm only a friend' bit :P
January 29, 20196 yr I think Barbora Mochowa was robbed. She has the best chance of qualifying and her song sounds melodically interesting and the vibe it has created is pretty haunting. Lake Malawi sounds like cheap pop to me.
January 30, 20196 yr Cheeriest and boppiest thing revealed so far. Easy fave, so nice to see some alt-pop in the lineup this early.
