not sure where the hype for this song came from (considering her previous single didn't chart) but it now looks likely to be a future top 40 hit, what do we think of it?

 

 

it's very sparse even for a piano ballad, but I quite like it, wouldn't mind this being a hit whereas 'lovely' was just plain boring (glad that never made the top 40).

This is the first song I've heard from her that's really caught my attention (happened to hear it on Radio 1 the other week), really beautiful track, simple but powerful :heart:

'you should see me in a crown' deserved more but this is really nice also! I much prefer the sound she's currently rolling with, could never get into her older stuff.

Agreed, this is fab but seems more like a fan fave on like a Lorde/Marina album or someone like that, one that is basically everyone's fave but would never work as a single. Then again I'm stopping even trying to rationalise why things are hits nowadays and what will and won't smash :lol:

I am very much enjoying Billie Eilish at the moment and its wonderful to see this getting attention.

I feel her album has sleeper hit written all over it.

The album is hanging around the lower end of the charts for the last 2-3 months now and think its just going to take off properly in the coming months.

was very surprised this morning when I saw that she's on the Youtube UK top 20, didn't think this kinda artist would do well on YT, mostly it's rappers and pop

This video is the most interesting, sounds like something from a Lorde album.

I really liked her Ocean eyes song from a while ago, then she kinda lost me by collaborating with Khalid, which is a no no no for me

Been quite a grower for me this, good to see that this went Top40 for her.

Not really a fan of Billie's version but the song itself is really beautiful and has such powerful lyrics. I discovered a cover from Aussie alt-pop group Cub Sport and I'm absolutely in love with it. One of those stop-you-in-your-track types and moves me to tears.
