Just Got Paid would have been huge had it been on TTH, weird to see it climbing Spotify now considering it’s peaked on iTunes!

Urgh, my Spotify started auto-playing 'Polaroid' after I'd played the last song on a playlist I'd curated. I was out of the room, so it played enough for me to have given it a stream completely against my will. :angry:

 

I feel so dirty and violated. This is exactly how such terrible music ends up doing well on here.

I've really found it a peculiarity how much Spotify gears itself to manipulating the charts. If you haven't already, you can disable autoplay at the very bottom of the preferences menu.

Sometimes the auto-play function can actually offer some nice discoveries (it's how I found my upcoming BJSC entry for example) or serve a bit of a flashback with a song you'd forgotten :) Then other times it hits you with the trashy songs that don't deserve your stream, like Polaroid.

LABELS CANNOT PAY FOR HOT HITS ADDS. They can do their best for a deal and influence, but it's always down to Spotify in the end.

Streams are very low all around, although Ariana is still almost out-streaming #2 ("Shallow") by 3 times!

 

The only notable movement is Freya Ridings has jumped to a new peak of #13!

for example if i streamed the Greatest Hits version of Say You'll Be There, would it go toward a single stream sale or album stream sale?

I must be the biggest Cheryl stan on here but you have posted like 3x more posts about her than I have since the luanch of LMMDT :lol:
