As you will all know, after 18 years Big Brother aired potentially its last ever final yesterday, with Cameron Coles coming out on top as the youngest ever winner. But there's been nineteen civillian series and 8749398 celebrity series, who is the ultimate best housemate? :o That's where you all come in, we're going to celebrate the iconic housemates who made the show the institution it is, giving us iconic moments ranging from raging arguments to diary room rants to actual physical altercations, from showmances to one-sided obsessions to sex in the house, from evictions to ejections to walkers.

 

We're splitting the celebrations up a bit, given there are so many series to cover - I know I'm gonna need two lots of 40-50 to cover all my faves :kink: So Channel 4 and 5 eras are going to be separate, with the Channel 5 era coming after this bunch in terms of nominations. Then they'll all be put into one final to find your ultimate winner!

 

First of all, it's CHANNEL 4, which covers series 1-11 of the civilian iteration and series 1-7 of the celebrity version, as well as the only series of Celebrity Hijack. This era covers Big Brother's cultural peak, for better or worse. Its ubiquity is proven by its record 10 million viewers for the Big Brother 3 final, the launch of Jade Goody's tumultuous career, and of course the infamous race row of 2007, all overseen by Davina McCall.

 

So let's get to it - what do you have to do? Here's the rules:

 

- You can nominate as few as 10 or as many as 50 of your favourite housemates, as long as they cover the Channel 4 era. As stated, they can be from celebrity or civillian.

- Please format your votes as +50, +49, etc. and just stop wherever, it's much easier to count that way. For example if you're only doing a top 10, just go down to +41.

- Don't worry if you've only seen a couple of series or bits of series, if you have a bunch of housemates you like as people from what they brought to what you've seen, please do nominate! This isn't about who's seen every series as a superfan, it's about celebrating the people that made Big Brother what it is today.

- Commentary is encouraged, I'm sure some of us are feeling nostalgic over a lot of these housemates!

- If you do want to edit in someone you've forgotten about, that's fine, but post in the thread if you do change anything as I'll be adding up as I go along when I can, so I may miss edits if you don't signpost them.

- Get this in by 25th November 2018 at 23:59!

 

 

We're also going to get you guys involved in commentaries etc., so that everyone can get involved and say what the housemates and Big Brother has meant to them over the years, more on that during the final stage but now it's over to you!
