December 19, 20186 yr Author I know this is going to be childish but so be it, im frustrated, people moan on here about the lack of people commenting in general compared to how it used to be and that buzzjack is not as popular as it used to be etc etc etc and I can see why. People go out of their way to create something for others to enjoy that they have spent weeks/months on, something where people can discuss music and lets be honest, we all love a countdown but to have a countdown that started 1 month ago to only have 9 comments out of 50 with about 7 from one person just isn't enough to warrant me bothering doing this anymore so im just gonna post the whole countdown. I know its petty and childish but if no one is bothered then either am I, and yes there are many views but that just makes its even worse, over 2 thousands views yet 9 comments is just ridiculous. The final countdown of everything will be posted but just as one post, I see no need to count it down, thanks to the couple people who actually bothered to post something, appreciate it ALBUMS 1 Elvis Presley - 111,638 2 Beatles - 107,817 3 Queen - 95,572 4 Michael Jackson - 92,113 5 Rod Stewart - 82,077 6 David Bowie - 80,920 7 Simon & Garfunkel - 80,837 8 Madonna - 78,667 9 Pink Floyd - 77,626 10 Abba - 75,811 11 Frank Sinatra - 73,633 12 Elton John - 74,106 13 U2 - 69,725 14 Cliff Richard - 69,556 15 Fleetwood Mac - 69,161 16 Rolling Stones - 66,396 17 Oasis - 56,899 18 Dire Straits - 56,487 19 Bob Dylan - 53,747 20 Phil Collins - 50,403 21 Meatloaf - 50,357 22 Neil Diamond - 47,966 23 Robbie Williams - 47,701 24 Carpenters - 46,885 25 Take That - 46,562 26 Simply Red - 45,973 27 Coldplay - 45,305 28 Beach Boys - 45,221 29 Bob Marley - 45,176 30 Diana Ross - 49,010 31 Tom Jones - 42,816 32 R.E.M - 42,123 33 Bruce Springsteen - 39,573 34 Eminem - 39,351 35 Shadows - 38,905 36 Whitney Houston - 38,406 37 Bon Jovi - 38,400 38 Mike Oldfield - 38,102 39 Barbra Streisand - 37,821 40 UB40 - 37,804 41 Eric Clapton - 37,714 42 Stereophonics - 37,244 43 Celine Dion - 36,729 44 Adele - 36,549 45 Eagles - 36,247 46 Andy Williams - 35,775 47 Genesis - 35,576 48 Status Quo - 35,121 49 Jim Reeves - 34,964 50 Michael Buble - 34,898 51 Pink - 34,610 52 Tina Turner - 34,406 53 ELO - 34,354 54 Prince - 34,302 55 Rihanna - 34,001 56 Lionel Richie - 33,595 57 Bee Gees - 32,746 58 Guns n Roses - 32,663 59 Eurythmics - 31,652 60 Paul McCartney - 31,194 61 George Michael - 30,115 62 Red hot chilli pepers - 29,928 63 Kings of Leon - 29,492 64 Police - 29,484 65 Kylie Minogue - 29,427 66 Stevie Wonder - 28,589 67 Madness - 28,551 68 The Killers - 27,605 69 Sting - 27,562 70 Mariah Carey - 27,543 71 Radiohead - 27,204 72 Roxy Music - 27,170 73 Bryan Adams - 26,858 74 Johnny Cash - 26,750 75 Amy Winehouse - 26,576 76 The Corrs - 26,553 77 George Mitchell - 26,467 78 Foo Fighters - 26,416 79 Ed Sheeran - 26,206 80 Paul Simon - 25,242 81 Duran Duran - 25,217 82 Billy Joel - 25,191 83 John Lennon - 24,817 84 Kate Bush - 24,760 85 Moody Blues - 24,495 86 Blondie - 24,252 87 Wings - 24,067 88 Barry Manilow - 23,860 89 Neil Young - 23,674 90 Blur - 23,556 91 Seekers - 23,269 92 Cher - 23,026 93 Beautiful South - 22,909 94 Snow Patrol - 22,823 95 Paul Weller - 22,461 96 Pet Shop Boys - 22,398 97 Beyonce - 22,426 98 Chris Rea - 22,030 99 Westlife - 21,985 100 Nirvana - 21,814
December 19, 20186 yr I understand your frustration. I get about 60 views a day for my top 1000 songs thread but only about 2 or 3 comments a week. A lot of these viewers are 'guests' which I think is the same for your threads. I wish some of these guests would sign up to the forum and start commenting if they are interested enough to read it each day. As for the top 50 here,Elvis does the double. He was more of a singles act than an albums act but obviously his many hits compilations are enough to give him first place. There are not too many surprises. Everyone is where I would have expected them to be more or less although Stereophonics as high as number 42 is a bit of a surprise. Thanks for doing this anyway.

I think you were the only person who made more than 1 post so thanks haha And yeah maybe so but its the people who are members of Buzzjack who view and dont comment that are the main problem with the site not being as big as it used to be. And I get it, people don't have to comment, totally their choice. im not saying I expected hundreds of comments per post haha but if Buzzjackers don't comment and get into conversations etc people will just not bother posting and just come to view the mid week chart topic and leave. You try to bring something new, something to hopefully prompts interest and discussion and you end up with over 2 thousands views, 9 posts in a month with 5 of them from 1 person haha
December 19, 20186 yr Thanks for posting this anyway, it's interesting to look at. I know you wanted more comments but there just isn't a whole lot to comment on especially as most Buzzjack users like myself aren't familiar with much of the artists in the countdown. Hope you understand. Not surprised Elvis is #1 in this chart anyhow, he had loads of albums!

I totally get that not everyone will post on every acts, I never expected that but are you telling me people are not familiar with Kylie ? Rihanna ? Pink ? Beyoncé ? Cher ? Ed sheeran ? I could go on. If people on here want to see content that isn’t just about the midweek, iTunes/Spotify positions then people need to start contributing and engaging with content or more and more people will view and not post. I’ve been a member for many many years and it’s kinda sad to see that people post less and less these days
December 19, 20186 yr Dannyboy -- Thanks for all of your Lists. I Post a lot on an ABBA Forum, as well as on some UK Chart Sites. I often feel a bit frustrated, that only a few people respond to my Posts. The vast majority, of the Members of Chart Sites, never Post at all. Others Post very rarely. It seems to be normal, for most people not to Post at all. I've decided to live with that, and to carry on Posting anyhow. Poor Simon, (Suedehead), does his excellent Chart Commentaries every Week. I notice that he gets hardly any Posts - 'Feed Back' on them. He Posts them here and at Haven. I find that very sad, as he puts much effort into them. As you do with your Chart Lists... And I think that’s what is the most frustrating, we all obviously have a love for the charts and all it’s statistics and then when you do something that you assume others will have the same interest in and get 9 responses in a month yet so any views it just gets frustrating and makes you just think well there is not much point doing anything else in the future or posting anymore.
December 19, 20186 yr I hear your frustration, I've commented on this and your other countdowns as I've found them very interesting to follow. I've posted a couple of my own lists too and the way I approach them is: this is something I haven't seen done before that's a bit niche but I'm going to enjoy compiling them then put them out there, and if other people like them then great and if they comment it's a bonus. I'm fairly new to this site and can't speak for others or how it used to be, but I'm grateful that it's still here at least. Thanks for posting the full 100, nice to see my two favourite acts side by side at 32 & 33 (about time Bruce made it into one of these). I guess the Beatles might have been #1 until a few years ago, but Elvis is a worthy champion. You've put in a great effort in preparing these and keeping the posts going as long as you have.

I certainly appreciate what yourself and other people have said. I have 1 final countdown to go so I think what I’ll do is post 10 per day over 10 days then it gets it over and done with for the new year then I’ll just pop updates weekly if it changes. Not bothered about comments. Just want it done in time for the new year. Edited December 19, 20186 yr by Dannyboy
