November 19, 200618 yr Thanks Lainey love the review  Will Young clearly shared my unapologetic joy and couldn't resist joining them on-stage showing off a few dance moves - to the delight of the crowd. Speaking of the original UK Idols winner, he, along with Ronan Keating, had a longer set (15 more than the 30 minutes allocated to the others) - and rightly so. Apart from his signature hits Light My Fire, Your Game and Leave Right Now, he also had a ball singing Venus, the song Bananarama covered, complete with their (campy) dance routine. At one point he even caught a bra on his foot, kicked it around and said, "I'm not sure what to do with this . . . the story of my life." The best bits included his singing out the names of his band and crew, giving them their well-deserved moment in the spotlight and a quick version of Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head . . . just for us poor sodden fans. And while no actual drops fell on his head, we still applauded. Hers is a little pic http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y208/sunday20/page_4503638.jpg Edited November 19, 200618 yr by BanYellowm+m's

November 19, 200618 yr Hiya!! not been here in ages :P Anyway here are some luverly reviews I thought it would be nice to have these in one place. Love yours Nalisha ;-) CAPE TOWN Awesome, Thank you very much for the Unite of the Stars concert. It was awesome. I have been a big fan since Pop Idols - but watching you live is far better - and has made me a bigger fan. (if that is possible) I might just become a groupie - if it wasn't for work committments I would have definetly followed you around SA!!! Well done - and I hope you decide to come to SA again. It was the best live concert I have ever been to - and you were the cherry on the cake. again, I thank you! Please bring your concert to SA again Author : trish Pienaar Will you were totally awesome at the unite of the stars... and if you ever give up your day job, you should become a comedian... you were so entertaining!!! Totally amazing! Keep on doing what ya doing cos you just so damn good at it!!! Wish I couldve seen you at all your gigs in South Africa... Keep it real!! Author : Nas BLOEMFONTEIN Will and his band were something to behold! The highlight of the show, and probably the best thing to have happened to Bloemfontein in years, if not ever, though you would not have guessed it by the crowds response – or rather, lack thereof. This is by no means a reflection on either Will or his band. The band was unbelievably tight! Will’s vocals flawless, mixed with moments of charismatic flair. The sound was probably the best I have heard in years – beating Robbie, U2, Bon Jovi and Sting (to name but a few). Most importantly, Will was gracious to a (largely) unappreciative crowd, and performed to the highest of professional standards. Thanks for an amazing spectacle! Hope to see you again in South Africa, but not in Bloemfontein. Author : Justin Coetzee PORT ELIZABETH You were awesome!!!, I stood in the rain waiting for you...and boy oh boy it was so worth the wait!I did not go to the concert to see anybody else except you and i was over the moon when i saw you but a few metres in front of me.I have even converted my 18 year old sister. She'd always say...that music is so lame, but after seeing you live she has seen you in a different light.Unfortunately for her, she shifted her crush from Shane to you...lol. All in all...fabulous, even if i had to sit through hours of other acts and artists i have never seen in my life!!! Your energy on stage was electrifying! And i found your jokes funny....lol. Hope to see you one day soon, and maybe take you for a beer.... Author : Simone Will was an absolute delight on stage at the Unite of the Stars concert. He gave a fantastically energetic and witty performance. Song writing and performance is an art form that Will takes with grace and charm to great heights. Plus, Will is so gorgeous I could eat him up with a spoon. Gotta love it! Thanks Will for supporting Unite of the Stars and for giving me hours of listening pleasure. Author : Zane Pretorius JOBURG Fantastic!! ;-) , Had an awesome time at the Unite the Stars concert u were brilliant! Went out the next day to get yr cd (shamefully I must admit that I didnt have any yet..) and was looking VERY hard for "Who am I" .. its really hard trying to sing a song (with my voice as well!!) to shop assistants when u only remember certain lines of it.. but it was so beautiful I HAD to have it.. unfortunately it seems it's not in SA as yet.. so I'm patiently waiting another 3 weeks ;-) Thanks for coming out to SA hope u had a great time! And thanks for the show!! x Author : Charmaine You ROCK!!!, I'm still on a high after your insanely brilliant performance in Joburg on Friday night! I didn't want your set to end! The band was awesome, your voice was awesome and we all had a good laugh at your jokes. It was so much fum having you in South Africa- we'd love to have you back again....but this time on your own tour, without the other artists. Thanks for being pure class as usual! Author : Nalisha ;-) Will, you are so unique. I found the fact that you remembered a fellow South African and made time to wish her well after her horrific experience amazing. THis shows you not just another super star you are very much human and this made you shine. Your stage performance was just as amazing. You just rock !! :) You thanked your band, who were amazing by the way, you sang your heart out and you gave me goose bumps more than just once. I really hope to hear from you and would love even more an autograph..... You are an amazing person, Thank you for entertaining me and all the other South Africans in the manner in which you did, Be safe, Love Tanya Author : Tanya Will, you were absolutely amazing and awesome. Your sense of humour is incredible and your stage presence is fantastic. Your music is one of a kind and you are a true Star. I wish we could see more of you in this country and only wish you were on stage longer. I cannot pick one song as my favorite, because love them all. Your music is the only music I listen to and to see changed my life forever. I have loved you since you won Idols, and to see how you have grown is amazing. Please, please, please would you perform again in South Africa. Your voice is awesome and I absolutley love you and your music. I will continue to follow your growth and will always be a dedicated fan. Your number 1 fan in South Africa - Merrin Author : Merrin Brown DURBAN Amidst the pouring rain Will put on a great performance in Durban. Apart from his amazing voice he was so natural and hilariously funny and spontaneous! He made us forget the rain and just have lots of fun. He made the evening the most memorable!! Author : Sheline Loved seeing you live at Durban South Africa . Your energy level was amazing, thank you for interacting so much with the crowd, you sense of humor showed through and you were the best act there, Hope you come to South Africa to do a private tour. Author : cindy Hey Will... Ok I must say that you were the best. The only reason I stood through all that rain was to hear you sing. Your stage presence is awsome. And that bra... We all stood there saying he won't know what to do with it... and behold what did you say, "I'm not sure what to do with it." That was the best. Thank you for coming down here. You were the best and a real pleasure to watch. You really inspire me to now go for my singing career. (I used to go ti singing leasons with Dave Guiselli's wife. Thanks again, Mwaah mwaah mwaah. November 22, 200618 yr Interview translated by Melle.. One can hear Will's gear wheels working The British superstar Will Young began his career quite spectacular when he was the first Pop Idol-winner after more than 8,7 million people voted. Eduan Maggo talked with the pop star before his performance in the Unite or the stars-concert in the Bellville. The ease with which the British singer Will Young communicates/makes people welcome, can be misleading. but you can hear his gear wheels working. Even when he's at ease eating a plate of salad and a half cheese-and-tomato sandwich. "Fame can stop your personal development ,†says the popster. “the people around your can learn from their mistakes, but in the public eye you can not. Thus, where can you make mistakes then? “you need to be perfect in everything and always.(?) It can be obstructive.†Young has lived up to his philosophy when he hardly a month after he was announced the winner, announced he was gay. “People haven't made a big thing of it. I have been fortunate; the Âpopularity of the series probably made it easier for the public to consume. or probably is it ’a sign of the time. It's not important but it is nice to be different." He pushed things a bit further when he removed his cloths in his first role at the cinema, Mrs. Henderson ÂPresents. “i don't mind to undress. My parents are quite liberal. It's also in the context of the film. I think it'll be much more frightening to play in a sex-scene.†There's also a perfectly full front scene made but it hasn't been used. "Then I became too eager but is was very liberating?." “its just not the pop star-thing to do . but if you already have appeared bold (with no hair), what else do you have you to hide?†With Pop idol his life has changed. “I traded overnight my student-status with that of somebody with a Âmillion-pound-bussiness. That was quite a learning experience.†"While my life has gone forward in certain aspects it has gone backwards in others". Young says he has learned the past five years to have a look at his life and find a balance. The last two years he has been a bit more quietly. “As you grow older, you think less of fame. I don't chase it anymore thoughtlessly and spend more time living my life in full." “I am doing now things which I never would have done before. I appreciate myself, and the hard work I put into it, more. " “I am very happy where I stand now. Creatively speaking i am in a Âinteresting place and i enjoy what I am doing. In my personal life it also goes very well.†That's why he decided to have a bit of fun with the video for “Switch it on†what was filmed in Cape Town . It was a light-hearted pastiche on the film Top Gun, so a dot-com take on it. I especcially enjoyed the homo-erotic view. "I am in a thinking mood on the moment. Fortunately I have a lot to look forward to and to prepare myself for. It feels as if I step in a new phase of my life" Young's lust for life is very apparent when he tell of its plans. After his performances in South-Africa, he will be among the gorillas in Gaboen for two weeks. Afterwards he goes home to prepare for his role in the Royal Exchange-theatre in a production of Noel Coward play called The Vortex. “I am my happiest when i am doing different things. Boredom frustrates me. I must do enough things which keep me busy.†Tthe crowning glory of his career thus far has been the time he spent in Cuba making a a music video , and from where he flew to Los Angles for the premiere of Mrs. Henderson Presents. “I had the best time and had to pinch myself all the time. It was almost surreal. In the chaos of the years before I lost perspective. it was good to be able to regain it ". "Musically i am still a bit perplexed; thus my next album will have to wait while I polish my taste a bit." "I'm going to approach it as if it is a debut album; myself as if I am a new artist. I'm getting excited allready thinking what it will be. But I haven't set a deadline/date yet". Young likes the relaxing stage in which he is on the moment. And if his youngest material is an indication of what can be expected, this star will even get greater

November 22, 200618 yr Thanks for bringing over lovely Melle's translation, Sweet William Fan. He must have felt that shaving his head was a really big deal, bless him! :D You've got to love him. I was never to keen on the shaved look but maybe he had to do it to help the condition of his hair. It must have been really damaged with all that straightening. Love his hair the way it is now. It's very reminiscent of how it was during Pop Idol. I often think that's because Will is now being very much his own man & not being made to look a certain way by stylists.
November 22, 200618 yr Thanks everyone for bringing over the various snippets and interviews. Great reading - away from the doom and gloom. Welcome Mary B and welcome back Will's Wicked. :D
