Wonder if he will include different songs different nights.Perhaps LIAMOD was especially for Joseph's birthday & he'll include ATL at another concert.

Nothing sinister - someone surfed What'sOnStage and found that Conor is in a National Theatre production. Don't know why they want to know - no big deal. I did wonder myself if he was there but the man's a dancer and he has a career. End of. :rolleyes:

 

Looking forward to more news. I think Ro is headlining the other gigs - if I'm not mistaken.

I have just looked up tickets for the concerts and RK is mentioned for the 7th 9th 10th 11th but he is only named first on the 9th and the 10th.

Report back from SA - thanks to Griff:

 

Firstly, aplogies for not getting a report in earlier but, after the concert, we went to a friends house and their 'hospitality' was very generous!! We had a lap top to look at, but we were still reading the thread when we noticed the time was after 1am and we felt we ought to log off. Janet and I drove to an Internet cafe which has a sign on the door saying, 'open 24 hours'. It was closed !!!!

 

Right, the concert. Very good entertainment. Most of the crowd were standing in the centre bit and those that had seats round the sides came down and stood for some of the time. All the acts were good, but I personally didn't like Marcos Hernandez as he was so in love with himself!!

Shayne sang 6 songs and has definitely been to the Robbie school for showmanship. He was actually very good and got the biggest teenage screams of the night. He is the one that all the teenage mags are featuring.

After Shayne had finished they said that there would be a short delay while they set the stage up for Will, loud cheers... and then we waited and waited while technicians fiddled with wires and equipment. It took nearly 45 minutes and the crowd were getting restless. Lots of chants of 'we want Will', but no explanation for the delay. Blakey seemed to be a bit put out by it all. Janet said that the same thing happened to Robbie when he was over here.

 

Anyway the music finally started for Keep On, same build up as the tour and on he came to really loud applause. Not so much actual screaming as for Shayne, but very loud and continuous clapping and cheering.

Will did one of his 'chats' about Cape Town being cold and wet and it was warmer when he left London! He said he'd bought his jacket that morning for 100 rand (about seven pounds) and was very pleased with it, even though it was a bit small!.

Mentioned LIAMOD was from his first album, then said he now had THREE albums out. Gave a giggle and said that when he'd done 5 he would be able to renegotiate his contract, if anyone still wanted to listen to him. Big shouts of 'YES'.

His voice was amazing last night and the crowd were singing along to LMF, WAI, LRN etc. The guys in the crowd were really bopping along to LTOYW. Throughout the evening it was obvious that the audience were really into old songs. All the artist got the biggest cheers for songs that the audience could sing to, so maybe Will's set list was unusual in that he had songs like ILYMTYWEK. During that you could hear a pin drop and he got really good applause afterwards. I didn't go to the Mermaid and have always loved the MP3 of that, but last night it was really special and the clarity of his voice was amazing. On the big screens they had close up pictures and all the emotion was showing in his face and his voice.

One thing that I think he should change for the next concert.. After YG he bowed, said 'thank you and goodbye' and walked off stage. I was sure that he'd come back on, but the audience seemed a bit perplexed. When he came back he just did Evergreen, then got the guys for a group bow and then the house lights came on. Due to all the delay in starting it seems he substituted EG for SIO which was the song on the actual printed set list. (Hobbie managed to get this afterwards!!)

I don't know why he missed out ATL. Janet says they play it a lot on the radio and the audience would have known it. Maybe he will mix and match at the other venus.

If I think of anything else I will try to get back to this cafe, if not I will 'see' you all next week.

Really. really enjoying my time in Cape Town and it was so good to see Will again , just one more time!!

 

Hope he gets his technical problems sorted out. What's he like with his clothes - bought a jack for £7. even though it's too small. :lol:

 

I bet he can't wait to re-negotiate :cool:

Re the teenage screaming he must have thought he'd stepped back in time & was in concert with Gareth Gates. :P

I mentioned bout LIAMOD over the road. He always says FC is his first album doesn't he - but then I suppose he feels that because he had input and control over it, whereas FNO was done more or less in his absence.
