Amazes me how this was transmitted. The reaction from the.contestants was.disgusting.

I remember watching it, I thought it was terrible and I was only young at the time. I mean looking back I have no idea how this even got greenlighted, it's just cruel. At the time it must have been hugely embarrassing for the winner, the papers were all over it as well which is why I think there was so much interest in the show. Good to see society has moved on since though.
There is absolutely no way this would get green lit now. It is crazy how much the world has changed since this was on.

And a bit more about that:

What made Blue Peter presenter Tim Vincent think this concept was all right?

I remember hearing about it on the radio but my family didn't have Sky so I couldn't watch it at the time.

Oh wow this was not what I was expecting when I opened up this thread but I looked at Wikipedia and there it says her husband suspects that it was murder?

FROM WIKIPEDIA:
On the 9th August 2019, it was revealed that Rivera had been found deceased on the 5th of February earlier that year. Although an apparent suicide, her husband Daniel Cuervo has stated his fears that she was in fact murdered and the suicide was staged.

How spooky it is that she died on the day you bumped this thread with this post.

On the subject of the programme I remember it being on TV but I didn't watch it, or at least I didn't watch all of it anyway. It must have been the highest rated programme on Sky One during that time.

I just read on Pink News that she died in February. How odd. I don't recall if she was a big star after There's Something About Miriam and her stint on Big Brother Australia.
