Aimee Ffion Edwards has been in quite a bit of stuff including the first generation of Skins. And yeah the first series is fantastic although some people felt it didn't get going until about half way through. I personally don't think there's ever been a duff episode. Some of the killers in the first series were more terrifying than the two in the second and there was also John's relationship with his wife which played out pretty fantastically. You should defo watch.

 

f***ing hell I knew I realised her face from somewhere, didn't realise she was in Skins. She couldn't have played a worse character in Sketch though.

 

The final episode was gripping stuff. I knew Luther would get out of it alive, but it was very clever how it all played out. Brilliant stuff.

Love the episode, I thoroughly enjoyed the series. I've actually never saw the first series, its only through word of mouth suggested I should watch it, now I need to watch the first series to piece everything together.

I for one am excited to see MAVERICK COP John Luther return to our TV screens. There just aren't enough MAVERICK COPS out there these days and to have a MAVERICK COP on such a big TV show is a big thing.

I rather enjoyed the STORIES, but MAVERICK COP JOHN LUTHER was always the weak link for me. I just don't have much time for mavericks in general really and he's an especially mavericky maverick.

If he wasn't a particularly mavericky maverick then his being a maverick shouldn't bother you. :D

Great opening episode.

It was a slightly slow start but by the second half I was gripped. The tension in that couple's house was ridiculous and the scene in the attic... truly terrifying.

 

I wonder what happened to Jenny who he'd kind-of-fostered last season? And I want Alice. Apparently she pops up later.

 

Just marathoned the whole series tonight.

 

I preferred the first two episodes to the latter two. Batman's motives just got more and more silly. Gutted they killed off Justin. I guess we're to take it as that's the end now? Not sure if this movie idea will ever come to light. I think the idea of an Alice spinoff is far more likely judging by Twitter tonight and Dexter soon to be ending.

Great episode, had me gripped from start to end though not sure about the ending, seemed a bit unlikely but that's my only criticism

 

I hadn't watched series 1 or 2 so ill definetly be checking those out soon!

It was probably my least favourite of the three season finales, simply because it was too much of a rehash of the Zoe story, but Alice's involvement and the last five minutes or so were BEYOND epic. I think the movie will still happen and I'm pretty excited. There's so much more they can do.

 

I also just caught up with the whole series in the past two days, I thought it was really good throughout and whilst I preferred the latter two episodes, I thought it was a bit unbelievable some of the things that happened (mainly a rent-a-mob coming to cheer on a live execution and the abduction of a pregnant woman). Other than that, the fourth episode was my favourite of the series. Mary was a bit bland overall but her and Alice's partnership was great. I'm fairly disappointed that this seems to be the end but a movie would be very much appreciated also!

BBC confirmed it'll be four episodes, rather than just two, and it should premiere before Christmas.
