Electronic band Ladytron released their new, self-titled album earlier this month. They've described it as "a lot heavier than Gravity the Seducer ... the atmospheres are there, but there's more urgency underneath", which immediately makes me think of albums like Witching Hour and Velocifero, both of which I loved! They're still kind of a special band for me as they were my first BJSC entry.

It seems to be getting rather good reviews, although ofc that's to be taken with a pinch of salt. Pitchfork described the album as "an angry, pitiless, evil-sounding record whose nihilism presents them as sirens of the apocalypse" :o

I don't know if anyone else is listening to this lol but after first listen, my highlights were 'Run', 'You've Changed' and 'Tomorrow Is Another Day'. Obviously it all might change for me in time!

On first listen, I found it quite good, even if a lot of tracks kinda blended in together, apart from the highlights. I remember 'Run' being especially interesting and beautiful (it's actually the only song shorter than 3 minutes). From the descriptions, I was expecting the album to be even more 'angry' & 'evil', but it's quite dark and got some of that 80s sound to it as well.
