When asked on r/EDM if it was his vocals he said:

I love the song but I still wish it had *something* to do with Pokemon other than Rita Ora briefly appearing in the film :lol:

I legit wanted a reworking of the original Pokemon theme

A Kelly Rowland Version now exists too. I wonder how many people he got to record a version before settling on Rita

Kelly's is much better, but then I've never been a fan of Rita
