Donel was the runner up on last year's series of The Voice UK, mentored by will.I.am. His first single was 'Bang Like A Drum' which came out last summer but this is his second which was released last Friday and he performed on last weekend's semi final of the current series.

 

 

I really liked Donel on the last series and actually thought he should have won. It seems a crying shame that he seems set to be consigned to the 'Where Are They Now?' file because this is the sort of effortless R&B pop banger that just isn't done anymore. It reminds me of early Craig David/Usher!

The Voice just can’t seem to produce a star though no matter how talented the acts are.

None of them get promotion after the show! (other than Becky Hill. and that's really just features because she has an amazing dance voice)

 

I really didn't like Donel on the show last year, and none of his singles have done anything for me. Though I loved Ruti's cover of Dreams last year, she's just released an EP and will be performing on The Voice final tomorrow.
