'They’re competing with newer artists. It was always going to be a challenge but they have a huge fan base and their new music is attracting a new generation of fans.

Love this!!

I hope it's true

Speaking to MailOnline just before their Strictly Come Dancing performance, Mark Feehily, said: ‘I hear it is doing well. A number one album would be incredible after all this time.

‘I don’t think any of us ever imagined that we’d be in contention for a number one album in our twentieth year but we’ve given everything into creating an album that feels fresh and relevant to 2019. The feedback from the fans has been amazing."

‘There is still a long way to go until we know the official chart position but it would be fantastic and would round off a brilliant year for Westlife. This isn’t just a one-off comeback, we’ve got big plans for 2020."

Any ads on tele?

This twitter account is crazy, she is a proper fan.

The strictly performance was stunning

It really was - good choice of songs for the medley too! Pleased to hear the album is doing so well. I can confirm having had it on Spotify this afternoon that I'll be investing in a physical by week's end. This is up there with both Take That and Steps for bringing their sound into the current era and making it fresh.

Even my Dad who has a far too cool taste in music to say he likes Westlife thought it was a great performance :D

I was worried about the album but after having it a couple of days and playing it in the car a few times I can honestly say it's a very good album and they have done the right thing. Modern sounding but still Westlife...without covers. Should be proud of the comeback!

I can't think they'd be even considering quitting. This is Shane's chance to reaccumulate his wealth, they're selling out live dates worldwide at an insane level hence a stadium tour.

It's a decent album, i bought it on Saturday. I remembered how we heard 'Hello My Love' and how that really changed my opinion and interest in them.

They'd be insane to quit, they're doing really well....Streaming obviously will be something they will struggle with but their physical sales should easily ensure a No.1.

From them all Shane has to be welcoming the reunion the most even if its just to get some money again and surely he will be making a nice few quid from the reunion.

They might hit a six figure debut this week if the report is true. I think maybe the pre orders are too big for the music climate and UK climate now and in 2019. they are already scared to have a follow-up album to Spectrum, adding to that are the tracks of Spectrum most of them are new sounds to the old buying Westlife fans which might have a negative after effect to the next album sales. They might be thinking they can't do the one year in advance pre order again and result might not be as welcoming as this comeback album. BUT they are a very hard-working band I think what they should do is to release their 2nd album under Universal shorter than Spectrum maybe sometime in June or April like BTS and Jonas Brothers this year so the expectations from them, the fans, and the public will be lower and then reissue it on November. Spectrum might get a reissue on October as well.

Another good news from this album is the positive reactions from the fans. The only negative ones are from a few Shane fans. I think what they could have done for it before I think is they should have incorporated one or two upbeat modern tracks to previous Shane's solo albums since he is the most popular singer among them and so his fans won't be that shocked like the Dance track.

Haters are at it again as usual they are the noisiest. Incredible performance last night.

What I just don't like so far is what Kian said "saying goodbye to the fans with this album" thing.

Edited by myxxd

This might have been taken out of context because he was the one who said they talked about new ideas for the album already.

I do doubt they will release the new album next year, Nicky made it clear they want to go slower this time around.

what Kian said has a double meaning for me and didn't went well to me mentally since we are in the middle of a major release, I'm also surprised fans have not picked it up and or have seen it. I guess we are all busy listening with the album.

Moving on. If we will also fully believe they just recorded 14 songs for Spectrum just because Courage their competition have 20 tracks, it is for the consumers not to be puzzled by this. By the way It's just me ok because they can't release an album in a slower pace especially now that technology and trends are on a faster pace. Their old buying fans are used to an album every year. They need to keep the momentum going like in the 2000s, the time with the bigger album sales. They are not Adele or Ed or a rock group that can release big albums after two four or three years because of their age and in what era they came from. Even Take That have tried that but didn't match the success of Progress. They tried it with Where We Are as well before but from then on they went downhill. Maybe they will be promoted to the US as well by the end of 2020 like Adele in 2008 presidential elections and Ed like in 2012, one year after the release of Plus. In 2021 maybe they will try solo releases again (but I doubt it since most of them love the band so much) then in 2022 a new album.

A shorter time for the next album release will also have a positive effect for them even with a smaller sales because the fans won't have to wait for the new album that long like the first one that made it look like it's all for the money

They were great on Strictly but boy was the sound shit

Its nice to hear Kian not miming this time around as well, maybe he finally got back his confidence.

I still think Kian was miming, while nicky probably didn't
