Jay , do we have sales figures for Westlife singles this year? Hello My Love, BM, Dynamite. My Blood, Uptown girl and My Love?

Dermot Kennedy was #16 in the Irish year end chart (up to October) with sales of 7,000

Westlife sold 15,000 copies of Spectrum here so I reckon based on that they are definitely in the top 10 sales of the year here

They are #10 in the UK mids.

 

Also, I hope they talked about more singles in 2020.

we don't really know... Actually I believe this album has not much more to offer and no hit single can be pull out, assuming the current streams of the rest of the songs... However I am confident we might see a music video or any remix coming out in the next few months...

I don't agree, I think Take You There, Dance, One Last Time and Repair are all songs that could be singles.

and Why do I Love you and I wanna grow old with you and evergreen and Close and Angels Wings but that's not how it actually works... You can't really release the whole album as singles... And yet none of those songs had extraordinary streams... let's see however.. I love one last time but it won't be a hit and i know it.

Yeah but I think that then goes back to the old "if someone else released this it would be a hit" thing. Meaning, if Ed released Better Man, it would have been massive. I don't think the songs are to blame. And actually having 6 singles these days is normal. I think more singles might keep the album in the charts longer, it doesn't really matter how singles will do.

i hope... and i wish it can become Platinum since all their albums were certified Platinum.... it has a positive start this year being relevant to the top 20, you never know it might stay there sometime and return also during the wembley concert....

I dont think Platinum will happen for Spectrum.

It needed much bigger Q4 sales if it was to achieve platinum status.

 

I wonder if the album will be reissued later this year?

They should if they want this to be Platinum. If they want a possible 2x Platinum, they might release more singles from Spectrum next year from the reissue

I think that most of the album tracks on Spectrum are stronger Better Man, Dynamite and My Blood :o

 

Dance, Repair, Take Me There and Without You are my favourites :heart:

 

Nothing new about that. They always delay the single releases of the better tracks, that is their style from the start but I think the four singles released so far are strong as well

 

Without You which was released a day before the full album was track #9 like Seasons in the Sun from their debut album and was the fourth single a double A-side with I have a dream.

 

I think Dance then Take Me There then Repair will and should be released this year

You can see from here that the GP Spotify users like upbeat singles more while on YouTube where most of their older fans used to stream them like the ballad singles more. My Blood has overtaken Dynamite

 

While the non single album tracks on Spotify it's the ballad songs that are more popular because its their fans that are listening to them

 

Uptown Girl, anyway, is close of making the million mark if my estimated computations are correct. 920000 sales reported last January 2019 and 989000 is the latest reported last November 2019. 69000 increase for about 10 months, divide it by 10 or 11 is maybe the est. Monthly increase of its sales. It was performed on Strictly last November as well.

I won't be surprised if the reissue if there will be any will consist of 11 new recordings (8 from the exclusive for streaming EP before their tour, four for the reissue all formats) it means 20 plus or 22 tracks like Rod's album because that's what the people want but the difference is it will be mostly new songs. And so they can release more singles from it in 2021 if ever

 

Spectrum is #16 this week by the way with 3479 sales or more. #8 sales, physical, #43 downloads, #7 Scotland, #9 ireland

 

Uhm what's their plan? They need to something nationally this month first of all
