The only way for Westlife to cracking US market is Nashville as I said months ago. Duet with acts as big as Kacey Musgraves, Carrie Underwood or Luke Combs... The only reasonable solution.

I remember that but maybe that will be one on their last plans. They tried it in 2002 they even had a documentary and did a version of Daytime Friends and in 2013 with Shane as well but didn't worked out to their UK fans, maybe in the US it'll work.

Anyway, for those who are saying these are Steve Mac's worst produced songs obviously are clueless about the Westlife discography, what sound the fans used to listen from them, and what made them number one.

I found the time to watch the boys on Late Late show and they were great. Flying Without Wings rendition was beautiful, its amazing they can always find new ways to make a 20 year old song fresh but still keep it true to original. I adore the version of Swear It Again they did during Where We Are tour.

They'll be on 0915 Lorraine without Shane?

Lytham and York festival dates are already announced

I expected them to drop to low top 10 this week, just hope they are not pushed out now.
I still think Celine Dion will sell better than Westlife in terms of first week sales and beyond that. Her preorders have been big on iTunes and it’s a big comeback album after an extended hiatus. Westlife will go T5 though.

Queen Celine coming to snatch that #1

they will be performing till they are old like the rolling stones.. :w00t: :D

After two decades of success, there are still things that Westlife would love to check off their list, like making a Christmas album, touring in America and making a movie.

Maybe they might do the Xmas album next year, that will be their next release next year

I always felt they should have released a Christmas album instead of Allow Us To Be Frank, I think it would have had a much better success. I love Christmas music and many artists do it so why not. They could have a Christmas special on TV and a few gigs in December and then they can rest for the rest of the year.

Christmas releases are not the biggest selling and trends in 2000s

1 Ed Sheeran 125,031 73,173 49,858

1 Lewis Capaldi 89,506 58,897 30,609 (7,206 on vinyl)

Can we beat any of those? At least on the pure sales :)

Those are the fastest selling albums and best sellers of the year so far.

Second to the biggest pure sales after Ed this year? Westlife got 60k

Westlife will not maintain that level of success. It’s mainly hardcore fans and having a long pre-order period. Celine has underperformed in comparison to her previous albums and lack of promotion is a factor.

No one said they will maintain it, that is pretty clear. I'm sure the album would have been even bigger had they released it while the hype was at its peak. Its still a good result though.

Really solid and enjoyable album this. Now there's a sentence 10 year old me in 1999 would never have said! In all seriousness though, it's definitely one of the best I've heard this year. 'Dance', 'Repair' and 'Take Me There' are my favourites.

Is that not what they did throughout he noughties with their November releases? 😜

Haha yeah :D But I just meant they won't even need to do a proper tour if they do this, they could really have a lot of time for their families next year. Its understandable they want to avoid the manic schedule from back then, I can't really blame them.

Nice review! Its nice you actually listened to the album and noticed the change, unlike 90% of critics who always claim Westlife do the same old stuff even when they obviously changed.

I know Westlife were mainly popular in Ireland/UK but you'd think their album would chart OK or at least chart at all in some othet European countries or Australia/New Zealand? Aren't they talking about touring in these places? If they can't even get a comeback album to even chart in these countries who will go to see them on tour?
