Tonight? Already. That snuck up quick.

I do hope the title is good, the last season had better have some epic titles to rival things like The Rains Of Castamere or The Wars To Come. Last season lacked on that.

Ready. I feel as though episode 1 will be a slow one though.

I'm ready for the new opening titles *.*

This is the shortest episode of the season so I expect it to be setting up what happens later in the series I guess?

Can we do a predictor thread based on the website circulating at the moment guessthethrone? Would be great to see if anyone can correctly guess everything that’ll happen!

YES *.*

623 guests!? bloody hell!

I'll be on full spoiler-avoid mode tomorrow.

Can't wait, I agree I suspect episode 1 will be mainly re-introducing all the main players and setting things up for the Battle of Winterfell.

There's only 6 episodes left so I suspect the days of the slower moving episodes are long gone. Can't watch until tomorrow night so I'm literally gonna have to avoid the internet all day
I don't think it'll be slow moving at all. I think Jaime will arrive at Winterfell after Daenerys to deliver the news of Cersei's forth coming betrayal which will cause quite the tension for an intro episode.

omg why so many guests

hit thread alert

8,000 views!! TV forum bringing the traffic

That’s so random that all those people are viewing lmao.

Episode 1, indeed introducing all the players then I guess.

NEW CREDITS THAT LOOK AMAZING and yet very, much needed, looks very fresh.

I did desperately need a reminder of where everyone was, so many more people than I thought were in Winterfell or about to arrive there, Gendry, Sam, I guess the Starks and Daenerys' entourage were obvious but I had forgotten most of what happened at the end of Season 7 bar the Wall falling and the dragon getting resurrected. So it serves a good purpose of getting me reacquainted with the characters and scared that they're going to die.

which of course, no one did. No one important that is. I guess the first ranks of Umber are getting broken without so much as a nod, I though Last Hearth being in the credits would make it more important, maybe Beric, Tormund and Dolorous Edd etc will be fighting a retreat from there next episode. Bran recognising Jaime at the end was quite a nice subtle lead-in to the next episode

.

I do desperately want Jon/Daenerys to work out. Even though I'm sure they won't, that little ice hideout with the dragons watching was cute and hilarious, which is not something I often say about GoT. I did relate to that scene with Davos, Varys and Tyrion looking at them more than I wanted to (for aging reasons).

Also I can really see Euron getting his comeuppance soon. He gets a prisoner stolen from under his nose while he's busy thinking with his other brain, I don't think he's long for this world.

Bran recognising Jaime at the end was quite a nice subtle lead-in to the next episode

One of the greatest moments from that episode came right at the very end.

Jaime's past catching up to him when he realises how he ruined a young boy's life all those years ago, to think Jaime probably never gave Bran a second thought too just because of the type of person he was back then. I'm very excited to see how this plays out next episode, before Bran's trip north of the wall I imagine he would've been much more inclined to punish Jamie (like Jon, Sansa, and Arya will be) but now he's seemingly emotionless I can see him not caring too much about Jamie anymore.

It's really interesting to see how different all the Starks are now. Arya going from being the innocent daughter of a lord to world-travelling secret assassin and saying she's only used Needle "once or twice" is brilliant  Though I struggle to see where her story will go from now other than just lurking around Sansa & Jon. She only has 5 names left from her list, although I doubt she genuinely wants to kill The Hound still nor Beric or Melisandre considering what's happened since then. Gendry is alive and fine plus Melisandre revived Jon and Beric has helped Jon too so Arya doesn't have too big of a reason to want to kill those two still. So long as she survives the forthcoming war at Winterfell I can see Arya fleeing south and ending up at the capital. I seriously doubt she'll be the one to end Cersei since Cersei is much more important storywise than Arya but I reckon she could take out The Mountain. Although he's a zombie now sort of sooooo I have no idea. Other than that Arya doesn't have much to do (can't see her being a huge asset against the Night King) so predicting her death in Episode 4 or 5 just before the finale. The trailer showed her running scared though, something she hasn't done in a long long time, so maybe she won't even make it halfway through the season... Ilyn Payne was on her list too but who knows where he is these days

Tyrion, Varys, and Davos are my new favourite group too after their discussion on Jon + Daenerys. Tyrion and Varys have always been a great duo ever since Tyrion was Joffrey's Hand

It feels so strange having basically an entire episode in one place, yet it holds almost all the characters. There's odd cuts to Kings Landing for Cersei and Euron plus Theon/Yara later on briefly but the majority of it was in the North with basically every major player.
