and finally

My Happiness – the first song Elvis ever recorded

Elvis recorded it in August 1953 at The Memphis Recording Studio, which would later be known as Sun Studios. It is was first recording. He also recorded That's When Your Heartaches Begin. A $4 acetate recording that would make history. It was lost for years until it resurfaced at the home of Edwin Leek, Jr. in 1988. He was a classmate of Elvis's at Humes High School, and Elvis took the acetate to Leek's home after he made it because Leek is reportedly the one who urged Elvis to go to the Memphis Recording Studio and make a demo. Elvis left the demo at his house and never asked for it back. It is available on the King of Rock 'n' Roll-The Complete 50s Masters, which is where this version is from.
