but my point is that you young buggers havnt a clue about pops evolution... and petes track here is exactly the sort of 'trial' track that created our rich musical legacy.

i like it as it doesnt conform to the general pop track that the likes of waterman, cowell, fuller, and that irish tw@t has spoon fed YOU lot for the last 20 years....

yes i am claiming the moral/patronising high ground here... its about time that pop pap was kicked out and people tried to get all inovative again in mainstream pop.... my generation did it all.... all you have is MY leftovers, MY ideas...

But I'm not sure it's that innovative. Aspects of it remind me of lots of other songs and styles. There's the happy hardcore Alton Towers theme at the end - which I've heard in the same clubs every week for years.

The backing track reminds me a bit of 'Ghost Town' by the Specials and his delivery could be from any number of 90's dance songs.

And even if it is different, that doesn't mean people should like it. Though it doesn't sound like a song by any of the current pop acts, I just think this track is awful.

What's the betting it comes out for Xmas #1 or something. -_-

I don;'t care if its something new and inventive - the fact it's this t*** singing it makes it bad from the start.

"all the freaks and the trannie's sayyyyye!" teehee - that really tickled me! What a weird "song". Its awful. I felt weird watching it, I never fealt so embaressed for an artist before. And I even liked Lolo Ferrari's single! ANYWAY - The video doesn't even look like a video! It looks like Niky followed him round london wiv a cam corder

Is he seriously releasing this? If so it will flop, look at Nadia two years ago. #27 smash. ^_^

I hope your not bad mouthing that song :o it was great and deserved to be 26 places higher

And the song :puke2: ruuuuuuuuuubbish

I wasn't, although in hindsight it was c**p, I did find myself strangely addicted to it at the time.

Is this that "little bit of action" thing or something else?

it in itself isnt inovative, its just like inovative sounds of the past and as it doesnt fit todays booorring formula im all for it!

...........i can see that im wasteing my time with the mentality of people on here.. <_<

yup

Some people need to face it, music changes, things change, everything changes in years to come! But think about it, some of the greatest acts of music have come from those many years ago, and this song nowhere near comes in line with acts like the beetles for instance

I wasn't sure if you were being serious up until this point.

You sound like such an arse, get over yourself seriously

And before you say it mentality is perfectly fine.

Gawd, some people really need to toss the Mariah and Christina CDs aside for a minute.

Lets reminds ourselves:

Hes working with Guy Chambers - you know, power ballad, Robbie co writer.

He hasnt brought out a soppy power ballad or formulaic track.

Its not a cover.

Presumably he's been allowed to do his own thing.

It's real unlike your Princess Nikki's fake e4 show.

Of course you're allowed to hate it but at least it's trying to be something different, which really surprised me about this as I was convinced he'd 'sold out'! After him ditching his band as well - but I do think this song is actually quite fun and good.

I doubt it'll be a hit but that just proves that Pete is what he is - not a boring, run of the mill conformist who doesn't care about what people think.

Ok. Thanks for explaining. I agree with you.

Like I said, I do like songs that are a bit different. I just don't like this one.

Theres 2 other songs on here. I'm so impressed with them, have to say. They sound better than the single choice, the happy hardcore sample spoilts it so much.

Also according to his Myspace hes Experimental / Techno / Happy Hardcore so maybe this'd be better in dance or indie as it's not very poppy.
