Noel Gallagher has continued his attack on the Arctic Monkeys, branding them "grumpy old men".

The Oasis guitarist has made numerous jibes at the Sheffield band since their rise to fame, and has continued this week with his latest criticism. As well as blasting the band's image, Gallagher expressed his concern over upcoming musicians copying the Monkeys.

He said: "Their public persona is now of a bunch of grumpy old men. I'm worried about what's going to follow in their wake. It's gonna be c**ts with guitars going: 'And me mum works down the f**king chip shop, she met a geezer' and all that."

Gallagher added his own views on the difference between the two groups: "Great pop music is not about real life, it's about how great life can be. Real life's s**t."

Oh Jesus, can the Gallaghers not just keep their ****ing mouths shut?

They're good musicians and everything, arguably one of the greatest British Bands of all time, but I can't see why they have to go around shooting their mouths off about every man woman and child in the music industry. Pr*ck <_<

I think there just doing this so they can get some media attention for their greatest hits album though.

Yep! Every time I read a "Gallagher attacks..." article in a paper, I think to myself "Must have a new single/album coming out"

Oh Come ON!!! The Gallaghers attacking ANYONE for lyrical discrepancies is utterly laughable....  I mean, have you read the lyrics to most Oasis songs....? Utter tripe for the most part.....

Coming from someone like Morrissey, Nick Cave or Jarvis Cocker this criticism might have some merit, coming from the Gallaghers.......?

And just so you know, I am not a big fan of AM, so I am coming from a position of objectivity here....

Noel is good mates with the AM and said nothing really against them. Just worried what state they will be in in years to come ^_^ It's just Noel's humour ^_^

Well I hope he's just saying this in all good humour. As when the Q awards were on and he was being interviewed he was saying how much he likes the AM and how they deserve all their sucess so it seemed all a bit wierd for him to come out and say this.

Yeah, he must have a very wierd sense of humour

It's a bit like me going up to one of my mates and saying "Alright, ****face?"

Well everybody has a different sense of humour.

I think Noel's humour though is influenced on how he's grown up and how he's been treated and he probably doesn't see these comments as offensive, however some people think they are very offensive.
