So they’ve decided that Wigan point deduction will stand this season despite originally saying it would come into play next season if they survived.

I really pray they beat Fulham tonight, justice.

No, they said that the deduction would apply next season if they finished in the bottom three without the penalty. As they finished above the bottom three, the points were docked and (unfortunately) they are relegated.

Can't say that I'm looking forward to seeing West Brom back in the Premier League but hopefully Brentford will make it through the play offs instead. Fulham, Cardiff & Swansea all have a chance of promotion as well after all three of them got relegated in recent seasons. Wigan will be very strong favourites for League One next season, they should win that league with ease as they are clearly too good for it.
Wonder how many players will leave Wigan with relegation though!?

^

I too hope Brentford will make it through the play-offs, would like to see another name in the list of clubs who have played in the Premier League.

Huddersfield Town have appointed Leeds United assistant Carlos Corberan as their new head coach.

The 37-year-old has spent the past three years with the Whites and coached the club's under-23s as well as being on Marcelo Bielsa's staff.

He replaces Danny Cowley after the ex-Lincoln manager was sacked on Sunday.

Never a ref that for Rico Henry!

After Reya saved Ayews penalty too.

Brentford overturned a first-leg deficit to beat Swansea City 3-2 on aggregate and book their spot in the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

Sheffield Wednesday have been deducted 12 points for breaking rules but it doesn’t apply until next season. Had it applied this season they would have finished bottom of the league.

Surely Wigan can kick up a fuss about this as originally their deduction was next season but they changed their minds the final game of the season

It will be Charlton that would kick up a fuss, although they're also in a state with no one quite sure what's happening with ownership so may not fight it. Barsnley said they would fight any penalty applied next season in the event of them being relegated.

Wigan's deduction was always going to be applied this season. A points penalty for administration is only applied in the following season if the club are relegated the season they go into admin, they couldn't finish in the relegation zone with about 3 games to go so was always going to be applied to the final table

Aitor Karanka has been appointed the new head coach at Birmingham City, signing a three-year contract.

I wonder if other teams are going to be deduced points, were Birmingham not rumoured to receive a deduction too?
Gutted for Brentford, it would have been nice to have a brand new team in the Premier League but instead we have boring Fulham yet again who will probably just end up going straight back down next year. Add West Brom to this and the promotions this year don't look too promising apart from Leeds.

I'd have liked to see Brentford come up too, but congrats to Fulham.

I cannot see how Fulham do not go straight back down again. Sure fire relegation certs for me.
