Bad news for Brackley who just missed out on promotion to the National League

A fire which ripped through Brackley Town's clubhouse is thought to have been caused by electrics.

It broke out at around 3am this morning (June 20) and took three hours to bring under control.

More than 30 firefighters attended, with crews also brought in from Buckinghamshire and Oxfordshire.

The club said it was a "traumatic time" but thanked well-wishers for their support

Notts County, the world's oldest professional football club, have had a winding-up petition against them adjourned for a third time.

Notts, relegated from the Football League last season having been a founding member 130 years earlier, owe HM Revenue & Customs about £800,000.

The up-for-sale club will next appear in court on Wednesday, 31 July.

Owner Alan Hardy has said he "will be exchanging contracts with the new owners in the coming days".

National League games between Stockport and Dagenham & Redbridge, AFC Fylde and Sutton, and Barrow and Dover have been postponed because of a rail incident at Milton Keynes affecting trains.

Solihull Moors against Bromley will have a "slight delay" on the 15:00 BST kick-off because of the disruption to trains leaving London Euston.

Fylde's postponement came at 12:10 BST and Stockport's game soon followed.

Barrow's match against Dover was called off at 1345 BST.

I wondered why they had been postponed.

It's not the first time Dover have had a game postponed for a strange reason. They once had a home game against Woking called off because the coach carrying the visitors got stuck in traffic. The delay was caused by a herd of cows on the road  As for Woking, I was once at a game there which was abandoned because a water main collapsed, causing a large hole to appear in the pitch.
