this single has no TV promo, no physical CD/artwork and no music video... it will deffinitely struggle to enter top 40..

unlike better man.

I hope the music video will not just be a simple official live performance video, not with this song. It needs a story somehow and will be crucial for them especially to some non-believers of this sex song and I can see why. Most of their fans are conservative but they know what kind of music prevailing right now are more liberal leaning. They are not used to the domination of Kian's low voice in the chorus and Nicky's Louis Thomlinson like standards of singing but both are the kind of sounds that appeal to the public more nowadays. And let's add their age. The things they know they need to work on is filling the gap between their old and young fans and to appeal to more music listeners. Isn't it obvious on the recent single choices?

 

What will happen to the video they shot two weeks ago if the music video will be shot later? They will combine it maybe.

Having single performed in front of 160 000 people + all the people in the cinema is also a pretty great promo. Plus, Better Man had only 1 live performance so its not a big deal.

 

To my understanding, the video wasn't completely done and Mark said that is why it needs more shooting on Saturday. That doesn't necessarily mean it is scrapped for live concert performace type of video.

 

This isn't a sex song though, its more about being in love and feeling like being on the top of the world. And none of the WL fans are that conservative that they will mind Nicky singing about kissing in the back of the car. Heck, Hit You With the Real Thing is more about sex and fans LOVE that song. :lol:

Well for me it can go both ways and has double meaning to it. It really depends on the listener.

 

Charis we need to wait after the Croke Park effect. If this won't meet the expectations. I want them to release a new single on August, their original month of release right?

Hit You With The Real Thing is one of my favorites, I really believe it should have been the single than Amazing. Anyway I am talking about the singles. HYWTRT is not a single and Dynamite is a single . The public know them mostly through their singles.

 

With the popularity of upbeat songs on streaming, I wonder if they will release a Flying Without Wings You Raise Me Up type of song from this album? I am sure they have recorded something like that and one of their plans but with Hello My Love being more popular than Better Man... I really wonder if they will.

it's gonna be 40-60 more or less - they will try different things. I have the feeling the Ed Sheeran / Westlife collaboration might not be perfect for them... they should try something else in the future as well..

When it comes to ballads they should work again with the Swedish, Jorgen Elofsson etc. those are the kind of songs their old fans want and their more popular old hits on streaming My Love, Fool Again, If I Let You Go were made by them and most likely will appeal to the younger ones too. I actually don't understand the emphasis on Steve especially during under Simon's rule, maybe because he is British. Mac's ballads for me are not their most universal ballads. They just hit it with Flying Without Wings Swear It Again and What Makes a Man during THE sales era.

Well there are no number ones today though.... only 10-15 no.1s per year makes it almost impossible for a new artist to catch them nowadays so i would focus on selling records now. 14 no.1s is a strong number they should aim reaching 100m records now and streaming will help them. They can do a few strong duets too, lewis capaldi, ed sheeran etc..

Better Man and Dynamite are as powerful and addictive as their old hits, swear it again/ FWW / my love / you raise me up and many more..

well it only peaked at #4 in itunes and it doesnt seem streamed enough in utube and in apple music so....

The Westlife feel has gone for me I'm afraid. Used to he obsessed but not feeling this.
