Posted October 15, 200618 yr Stand back in awe and gawp at the wonderous tune I have picked as the retro-appreciation tune!!! One of my favourite pieces of glorious trance of all time. Two artists both with musical backgrounds come together harmoniously to create this melodic masterpiece. One is the younger daughter of crooner Marty Wilde and the other a man who has more aliases than a con artist. The gorgeous Roxanne Wilde, started out singing in her brother Ricky's band, who afterwards took on a few others and formed Dimestars. They only had one top 75 hit "My Superstar" which spelled the end for them. Roxy went solo and teamed up with the producer, something for which i am truely grateful. The other guy is the undisputed champion of euphoric trance, Mr Darren Tate aka Angelic aka Orion aka a load of others too! This guy has more faces than Big Ben. Classically-trained Darren Tate has had major commercial success with such beautiful compositions as "Winter", "Its My Turn" and "Eternity". Darren created the DT8 Project and "Destination" was born. Here is the video. Show your appreciation and kneel before this angelic slice of marvellous tranceness!!!! PS. Roxanne's sexy poses and charisma is absolutely perfect for this video. I seem to have a problem embedding the video so heres the link lol [flash=450,350]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V1T5qVdaNVU.swf
October 15, 200618 yr I didnt like it at the time but I do enjoy it now. I remember it missed the top20 even when it was playlisted on Radio 1. A big shame
October 17, 200618 yr omg... i didnt know that roxanne wilde was one of those wildes! :) i love this track, trance at its commercial best.
October 23, 200618 yr aw, this is just awful... flimsy, flat girly vocals over a track that sounds about 10 years old. Dreadful. Shame she hasn't inherited her big sister's stunning good looks, too.....
October 23, 200618 yr Sub-Delerium really, not that great at all, and the vocalist tries (and fails) to do the whole "Sarah MacLachlan" thing.... Not distinguishable from about a million other tracks like this at all, wouldn't give it a second listen tbh......
October 29, 200618 yr I thought this track was rather poo really - I don't really like Darren Tate's productions.
November 9, 200618 yr Author This massive Euro hit from German DJ Tillman Uhrmacher was caned to buggery on Dave Pearce's Dance Anthems show. To this date, when the mood takes me, I still play this. The breakdown is like no other. First signed to German Fog Area Trance, trance imprint of Fog Area Records. In early 2002, Sony's dance music outlet, Direction Records, (whose biggest hit was Jurgen Vries "Brave New World" with Charlotte Church), signed this beautiful trance gem. It went to #16 in the charts, which is not bad at all, for a part-instrumental trance tune. Boasting remixes from Minimalistix (remember Close Cover - Piano Track?!) and PPK (ResuRection!) this was a staple diet for all discerning trance DJs worth their salt. Please all hail the wonder!!!! November 9, 200618 yr such a good tune :D Brings back my Uni days - thats the thing about being into clubbing, so many of your experiences are in the music!
November 10, 200618 yr I'm sure this was playlisted on Radio 1, they playlisted loads of trance songs in 2002 - instrumentals still did relatively well that year
November 10, 200618 yr Author Yeah right. 2002 was the year for instrumental trance, namely Minimalistix - Close Cover, Jurgen Vries - Theme and PPK - ResuRection (ok this was Dec 2001 but nearly!) ;) Great year!!!!
November 10, 200618 yr I'd say 1999 or 2000 was the year for instrumental trance with Gouryella, Darude, System F, Binary Finary, Chicane, Yomanda, ATB, Sakin, Southside Spinners, etc... but it was still an excellent year.
November 10, 200618 yr For me, 2002 was when the cracks really shown in dance music and all this year represents for me is Scooter and Flip & effing Fill - and house music was pretty dead. I do forget about gems such as 'On The Run' though... such a great track!
November 10, 200618 yr 2002 was pretty much split down the middle with Scooter type of dance vs Lange type of trance. Both were successful, but it seems people seem to only remember Scooter.
