The album is set for release in August.

Bon Iver has revealed his fourth studio album will be titled i,i (pronounced I comma I). In the lead up to its release, the folk singer-songwriter has dropped not one but two brand new music videos to get philosophical over.

The tracks, ‘Jelmore’ and ‘Faith’, were recorded at Sonic Ranch in West Texas and April Base in Wisconsin. i,i will feature 13 tracks all up, and is meant to act as the autumn-themed closer to the seasonal cycle started by For Emma, Forever Ago (winter), Bon Iver (spring) and 22, A Million (summer).

Fans were treated to previously released singles ‘Hey Ma’ and ‘U (Man Like) back in June

and let's not forget Hey Ma

personally best song of the year, very simple but very addictive melody

Looking forward to this!

And quick note because I'm a big fan :P Bon Iver are a band, not a he. Justin Vernon is the frontman. ;)

Bit of a meaningless observation but taking the title of his second album as 'Bon Iver, Bon Iver' (seems to be a bit of confusion as to whether it's that or just 'Bon Iver'), this now makes it 4 out of 4 albums from him that have a comma in the title, this has to be going past being a coincidence and be on purpose for some reason by this point  and a comma in the title of 'Hey, Ma' as well for good measure.

You should care about the others, they all help to bring the music together.

not sure what the others do, not sure now but in the beginning the songs were 100% Justin, it's his lyrics, his melodies, he wrote the songs in that cabin, plus his unique voice is also key to the songs

To be fair, yeah the first album was mostly just him. But since then it's been a group work.

Only 4 tracks on 22, A Million were solo written by Vernon as well.

the line is always thin when you have a solo singer-songwriter working with other musicians on a regular basis

like Ben Howard has always worked with the same people, they record with him, tour with him, collaborate with the songs too but he still releases them as Ben Howard

even if they are more of a band than Bon Ever for instance

I'm so f***ing excited

22, A Million was sensational.

Justin clearly feels like its a band but it's mostly his choice I reckon even if the contribution of the other band members is minimal

it's clearly not a Beatles/Queen scenario when all the band members write songs

Justin doers everything and then in a few songs he has other people, but what do they do? who knows, it's the drummer in few, so might be cos of that

but clearly the lyrics are Justin's 1000%

anyway

it's a pity looks like everyone's favourite lost track 89 is not gonna be on the new album

If you look at the credits for the last album, he worked with loads with loads of people on it - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/22,_A_Million#Personnel

And 6/10 tracks weren't just written by him.

it's a bit (lot) like arguing about genderqueer people's choice to identify however they want aka who tf cares/it's no one's business

It doesn't matter, but at least they're getting some discussion :P
