Posted July 11, 20195 yr The 2019 Netball World Cup will be the 15th staging of the premier competition in international netball, contested every four years. The tournament will be held from 12–21 July 2019 at the M&S Bank Arena in Liverpool Preliminaries Stage 1 Group A: Australia Northern Ireland Zimbabwe Sri Lanka Group B: New Zealand Malawi Barbados Singapore Group C: Jamaica South Africa Trinidad and Tobago Fiji Group D: England Uganda Scotland Samoa A new format will be introduced for the tournament. Teams will compete in three stages; the Preliminaries Stage One (12-14 July), Preliminaries Stage Two (15-18 July) and the Play-offs and Placings matches (19-21 July) Preliminaries Stage One There will be four groups (A, B, C and D) of four teams in the first stage, with the top eight teams pre-assigned to their groups and one team from the 9th-12th seeds and one from the 13th-16th seeds drawn randomly into each group. However no more than two teams from the one region can be drawn into the same group. The top three teams from each group will progress to the second preliminaries stage.[9] Preliminaries Stage Two The top three teams from Groups A and B will form group F, and the top three teams from groups C and D will form group G. The bottom four finishers from groups A-D will compete against one another in group E. Where teams in groups F and G have already played each other in the Preliminaries Stage One (i.e. A1 has already played A2 and A3), these results will carry through to the Preliminaries Stage Two.[9] Play-offs and Placings The teams finishing first and second in groups F and G will go through to the semi-finals, with the top placed team in each group facing the second placed team in the other group. The winners of each semi-final will compete for gold in the final, with the losers playing for bronze. July 17, 20195 yr Author England are through to the Netball World Cup semi-finals after a 72-46 win over Trinidad and Tobago. The Roses got off to a slow start in Liverpool but turned things around to remain top of Group G. South Africa confirmed England's place in the last four with victory against Uganda later on Wednesday. The top two sides from each group will advance to the semi-finals and, in Group F, Australia and New Zealand have already sealed their places.
July 19, 20195 yr Author England booked a semi-final meeting with New Zealand at the Netball World Cup by beating South Africa 58-47 in their final group match. In the battle for Group G's top spot, the Roses outclassed their opponents - especially in the first half. World number five side South Africa closed the gap after the break but England's unbeaten record in Liverpool never felt under threat. The Proteas will face holders Australia in Saturday's first semi (11:15 BST).
July 20, 20195 yr Author England missed out on the Netball World Cup final once again as they fell to an agonising 47-45 defeat by New Zealand in Liverpool. The Roses were unbeaten in the group stage but fell short in the semi-finals against an inspired Silver Ferns side. New Zealand go on to face holders Australia in Sunday's final for a sixth consecutive tournament. England have now lost eight straight World Cup semi-finals and face South Africa in the bronze-medal match.
July 21, 20195 yr Author New Zealand stunned holders and 11-time champions Australia to win the 2019 Netball World Cup in Liverpool. The final was tense throughout and came down to the dying seconds and just one goal, as the Kiwis prevailed 52-51. It was the Silver Ferns' fifth world title but their first since 2003 as they finally ended the Diamonds' dominance.
