September 18, 20195 yr Sloppy from Juventus to throw away a 2 goal lead against Atletico Madrid, they got too complacent and were not alert for Juventus's set pieces. It's a very good point for Atletico though. Embarrassing result for Real Madrid against PSG which adds extra pressure to Zidane at this early stage of the season. They need Hazard to show up or they could be in troible this season. Says a lot when their best player this year so far is someone they treated horribly over the summer..
October 1, 20195 yr Such a ruthless performance from Bayern, I've rarely seen finishing as clinical as that from a team and Gnabry in particular. 7-2 is an utter embarrassment for Tottenham and I wont be surprised if they move onto the Thursday night shift from the new year onwards.
October 1, 20195 yr The fact that Serge Gnabry scored FOUR is even more humiliating than the result! I've no doubt they'll sneak through like they always do but it's the kind of result that has a domino effect.
October 1, 20195 yr Anyone else heard about those rumours at Spurs about Vertonghen and Eriksen? Don't want to say them here as apparently there is an injunction out but check your Twitter... Anyway Spurs weren't that bad.. they just capitulated. They fluked the Champions League final last year and got beat a hell of a lot of times. In summary.. they can be good on their day but they have some stinker of performances in them as well. Conceding 7 at home is horrible. They will get through, but their remaining home games and beat Red Star away, or at least not lose.
October 2, 20195 yr Serge Gnabry- a former Arsenal player scoring four against Tottenham. That was probably one of the worst performances by a English team I've seen in the Champions League that display from Tottenham last night.
October 2, 20195 yr Sounds like a wild one at anfield! It was - a crazy game which could have been about 7-6 either side! Salzberg are a good team, suspect they will get picked apart in the summer similar to Ajax. Great game for the neutral. Thought we played some really nice stuff at times, but on the flip side the crowd shit themselves andwe made some horrible mistakes across the board. Usually we are so good at game management, terrible today. Ah well 3 points and a double header with Genk now.
October 2, 20195 yr Author That's why it was so important because the double header vs Genk I should = 9 points and near qualification! Edited October 2, 20195 yr by Steve201
October 2, 20195 yr That's why it was so important because the double header vs age I should = 9 points and near qualification! Hopefully, fingers crossed. Regardless I'd be confident of beating Napoli at home. Not sure I'd like to go to Salzberg needing the 3 points.
October 23, 20195 yr Tottenham finally got their Champions League up and running with a 5-0 win over Red Star Belgrade.
November 28, 20195 yr Author Just realised we drew last night at home to Napoli, wouldn't be surprised if we went out now.
November 29, 20195 yr Only 4 pages in this thread and the group stages are on the verge of finishing! Just shows what the competition without Manchester United is like  (I'm kidding) On a serious note I've hardly watched the Champions League so far this season, it's getting even harder to follow than it was before now that there are frequent early kick offs this season, this is added to the continued problem of not having live matches or highlights on terrestrial TV.
November 29, 20195 yr Author I know it's crap, I forgot it was on as I don't have bt and was home last lastnyt⏰. Some truth though in your first point as when united are doing crap yous don't come in here as often lol. Football is dead as my united supporting friends would say!!
December 10, 20195 yr Ajax have been knocked out in the group stages after losing to Valencia. Wow! That is a big shock after what they achieved last season. Edit: Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked by Napoli even though they won 4-0 tonight! Edited December 10, 20195 yr by Houdini
