December 10, 20195 yr Chelsea survived a late scare to move into the Champions League knockout stages with victory over Lille at Stamford Bridge.
December 10, 20195 yr Author Wow! That is a big shock after what they achieved last season. Edit: Carlo Ancelotti has been sacked by Napoli even though they won 4-0 tonight! Suppose it's still the Spanish league vs the Dutch league no matter what happened last season. Surprised Liverpool didn't mess tonight up, had a bad feeling!
December 10, 20195 yr Author It's unfort that as they have a good side this year, if they take the Europa league serious they could be contenders!
December 11, 20195 yr Group winners: Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, Leipzig, Liverpool, Manchester City, Paris St-Germain, Valencia. Runners-up: Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Chelsea, Lyon, Napoli, Real Madrid, Tottenham Hotspur.
December 11, 20195 yr It's strange that Atalanta qualified after losing half of their group matches, whoever draws them in the last 16 should make preparations for the quarter finals immediately. Edited December 11, 20195 yr by Houdini
December 12, 20195 yr First time since Newcastle United in 2002/2003 that a team who has lost their first three games have progressed to the next stage.
December 12, 20195 yr Author It's strange that Atalanta qualified after losing half of their group matches, whoever draws them in the last 16 should make preparations for the quarter finals immediately. The last team to do this were the Might Newcastle United! Edit: Just seen Macks post! Edited December 12, 20195 yr by ChristmaSteve201
December 12, 20195 yr Minamino practically confirmed to Liverpool for £7.25m. That is an absolute bargain. I know Haaland is probably the prize jewel due to his scoring record, but Minamino suits Liverpool to the ground. Chuffed with that! If the journos are right to be believed Brewster and Jones are going out in loan in January and then Shaqiri and Lallana are moving on in the summer.
December 15, 20195 yr Author Hopefully he will be a good signing, don't know much about him. Who does everyone want in Mondays draw?
December 16, 20195 yr Last 16 Draw Borussia Dortmund v Paris St-Germain Real Madrid v Manchester City Atalanta v Valencia Atletico Madrid v Liverpool Chelsea v Bayern Munich Lyon v Juventus Tottenham v RB Leipzig Napoli v Barcelona
December 16, 20195 yr Author Last 16 Draw Borussia Dortmund v Paris St-Germain Real Madrid v Manchester City Atalanta v Valencia Atletico Madrid v Liverpool Chelsea v Bayern Munich Lyon v Juventus Tottenham v RB Leipzig Napoli v Barcelona My winners: PSG Real Madrid Atalanta Athletico Bayern Munich Juventus Spurs Barca
December 16, 20195 yr The draw couldn't have been much harder for the English teams. I'm looking forward to watching Real Madrid Vs Manchester City, that is the tie of the round for me. Chelsea are probably going to get destroyed over two legs by Bayern.
December 16, 20195 yr Athletico are doing quite terrible. I imagine a draw there and a marginal win at Anfield.
December 17, 20195 yr Author They're still a top team and Simone will have them up for it. Liverpool never defend the European Cup well, apart from 1978 of course.
December 17, 20195 yr They're still a top team and Simone will have them up for it. Liverpool never defend the European Cup well, apart from 1978 of course. Athletico is the one team I wanted us to avoid, but we're one of the best teams in the world right now so plenty of reason to be confident. We're better than Athletico and thankfully we also have some shithouses in our team as well, so that always helps. Looking forward to seeing Man City finally have to face a big European name for once..
December 18, 20195 yr Author UEFA obv wanted some English teams out this year lol. We lost to Benfica in 2006 and I think we may drop out here too. We shall see though!
