Posted July 27, 20195 yr Two weeks to go until the new season.. time to get those predictions in so we can see how right or wrong we were come May! 01 Manchester City 02 Liverpool 03 Tottenham Hotspur 04 Arsenal 05 Manchester United 06 Chelsea 07 Leicester City 08 Everton 09 Wolverhampton Wanders 10 West Ham United 11 Watford 12 Bournemouth 13 Burley 14 Crystal Palace 15 Southampton 16 Brighton & Hove Albion 17 Norwich City 18 Aston Villa 19 Newcastle United 20 Sheffield United I can't see past the top 2 again being 1st and 2nd. I think the gap the other teams have to make up is so much that I can't see it being possible. City to edge past Liverpool again, although I don't think both teams will get as many points as last year. Totteham have strengthened well and if they can keep Eriksen I think they will be in really good stead. The worry for me is their full-backs if they let Rose go. Arsenal/Manchester United/Chelsea is compeltely interchangable for me. I've gone for Arsenal as the 4th team, purely on the basis of their attack. The rest of their team is bang average, but I can say the same about Chelsea and Man Utd and neither of those two teams have the strength in attack of Arsenal. Man Utd having a good pre-season, but it counts for nothing and if anything I think it's just hindering how bad they were towards the end of last season. I still don't think they have signed anyone decent and relying on Rashford as the main striker will be where they fall down imo. 7th-11th could go either way. Everyone is tipping Everton to do well, but they're downgrading Gueye for Delph and they don't have Zouma. West Hm have made some great signings but it can take them a while to get adjusted to the league (I really like Haller for example). After that I think it's anyone's game apart from 20th. Sheffield United are surely nailed on to finish bottom, terrible football, some terrible signings to match. I can see them being like Brighton in that they have some good home form, but are terrible away. I think they will really struggle. Villa to be the Fulham of 2019-2020. I do wonder if Palace will struggle this year as well. If they lose Zaha they don't really have anyone who can sign goals and they have a horrible injury list at the moment..

Brighton & Hove Albion I think City will run away with it this year. I think the Super Cup & Club World Cup are going to really hinder Liverpool. They should still have just about enough to finish above Spurs though. I see United, Arsenal & Chelsea all having really poor seasons (again) and it could really go either way for 4th. The Wolves squad isn't big enough for the Europa League so I can see them struggling like Burnley last year (and they didn't even make the tournament proper). Newcastle will miss Rafa and, while I actually think Bruce is a decent manager, I think he's more suited to the Championship and the quality in the team isn't there. Sheffield United will give it a go but get found out towards the end of the season and Brighton were only afloat because of Houghton in my opinion and with him gone I cannot see them winning much.
July 27, 20195 yr Author I think City will run away with it this year. I think the Super Cup & Club World Cup are going to really hinder Liverpool. They should still have just about enough to finish above Spurs though. It's only 3 extra games. The Super Cup will actually be decent for us, as it will be an extra game for the front 3 to get up to speed. I think the Club World Cup only becomes a problem if we go deep in the domestic cups, which I can't see happening unless we get the same level of draw Man City got.
July 27, 20195 yr My normal rule is that a team in comfortable mid-table at Christmas who only just stay up will go down the following season. For obvious reasons, I'm reluctant to apply that rule to next season.

Tottenham are almost nailed on for a top 4 finish I would say and it could go either way in the battle for 4th spot. Wolves will drop off from the standards of last season and I would be very surprised if Brighton avoid relegation this time. I don't think all of the promoted teams will stay up but at the same time they wont all go back down to the Championship either. July 31, 20195 yr 1. Man City [best squad depth by miles so clear favourites] 2. Liverpool [won't be as close next season, too reliant on front 3 if one gets injured] 3. Tottenham [will just edge it but addition of ndombele is postive] 4. Chelsea [lamps will surprise people & young players will show they're capable of stepping up] 5. Arsenal [same old story will wow at times but fall apart at others] 6. Man United [no reason at all to be optimistic unless a few more big & reliable players join] 7. Leicester [additions of perez & tielemans will put them ahead of the also rans] 8. Everton [will wobble during supposed easy start putting silva under pressure but ultimately fight back] 9. West Ham [tough to call how they'll do but decent signings should see them into the top half] 10. Wolves [europe league will spoil them but not to same extent as burnley last season] 11. Southampton [expecting a big improvement for them under hassenhuttl] 12. Watford [probably the hardest team to predict as always but comfortable mid-table beckons] 13. Bournemouth [solid as ever job from howe, unspectacular but never in danger] 14. Burnley [think it'll be another tough season for them but will grind out results at the right time] 15. Crystal Palace [could be tricky if they lose both zaha as well as wan-bissaka, enough midfield options to keep em up] 16. Newcastle [don't think they'll go down but can see them flirting with relegation for a long time] 17. Aston Villa [dramatic fightback in last 5 or 6 weeks to survive] 18. Brighton [think they'll play better under potter but they don't have enough quality with an ever-ageing murray being relied upon] 19. The Burnley/Southampton ones look a bit wrong after today! 1 Man City 2 Liverpool - top 2 are miles above everyone else 3 Spurs 4 Arsenal - could be anywhere but should have enough goals 5 Leicester - they were so good under Rodgers, continue that form and they'd be third. Can easily see them being the ones to break the top 6 - great signings, Maguire's replacements already there 6 Man Utd - just don't think they've done enough with that squad, and really poor manager 7 Chelsea - don't rate Lampard, lost the best player by far out of the top 2 8 West Ham 9 Everton 10 Wolves - if they exit Europe before group stage move up two. It must have been a hell of a long time since a club that's not usually there got to Europe and did better the next season, I don't see Wolves being any different. 11 Southampton 12 Villa 13 Watford 14 Brighton 15 Bournemouth 16 Sheff Utd - Wilder an unbelieavable manager - play such an unusual style that teams won't work out.
