July 28, 20195 yr Yeah Oslol was a pleasant surprise  *.* You sound like most of my Grindr hookups.
July 28, 20195 yr Qualification streak update (underlined countries have matched or extended their longest ever Q streak): 30 Aeroche 30 Cor Lupus ~ 17 St. Burbia ~ 15 FARC ~ 10 Thelonia * ~ 9 Quintessa ~ 8 Dobago ~ 7 Oslol 7 Skall ~ 6 Espen 6 Fljótavík 6 Lotunia ~ 5 Terra Avium ~ 4 Cadelicia 4 Greenfroze 4 Kylienips * 4 Taahino * 4 Unovia * ~ 3 Altyr Muunilinst 3 (The Actual Republic of) Bellamia 3 Hushkanukia 3 Jadakissnia ~ 2 Budtar 2 Flynnonda 2 FSR Rontvia 2 Hendinia 2 Scherzland 2 Vülkyria ~ 1 Arcodesia 1 Brechtoria 1 Daehun 1 New Lexico 1 Niceland 1 Persephonia 1 République d'Áskorza 1 Suedeonia 1 United States of Jack 1 Utopia * DEAD 5 Danæviia 5 Kluminican Republic 4 Trifoski 3 Séyetana 2 Ojnoj 1 Aelandor 1 Aesthetica 1 Ajanaeda 1 Deandria 1 Florina 1 Jupiterdonia 1 Land of DW 1 Rolloland 1 Ultraviolenceland * more consecutive entries (14 for Unovia, 11 for Thelonia, 7 for Taahino, 5 for Kylienips, 2 for Utopia) have qualified but these streaks were broken by breaks from the contest The 9 longest streaks all continue, with 8 of those 9 further extending what's already their longest streaks - Aeroche & Cor Lupus both make it to 30, now only 4 away from matching Hendinia's streak of 34 for the second longest of all countries, St. Burbia remain their closest rivals going up to 17, FARC march on to 15, Thelonia hit 10 (11 excluding the one contest gap) so have now gone a whole year without missing a final after never being in 2 consecutive finals before that, Quintessa get to 9, Dobago to 8 and Oslol to 7. Lotunia also expand their existing record to 6 in a row (double their best before that). Two more countries match their records, with Terra Avium getting to 5 in a row after previously doing so in BJSCs 82-86 and BJSCs 95-99 (with the footnote that the latter run is morally 6 in a row due to the mistake that cost them a place in the BJSC 94 final) and Flynnonda getting 2 in a row after previously doubling up in BJSCs 92 & 93 and again in BJSCs 96 & 97. With Terra Avium being unable to enter next month as it stands the world doesn't seem to want them to get a proper 6 in a row. x Also of note, Unovia's 14 in a row excluding a one-contest gap matches their record of 14 in consecutive contests, although that run of 14 was also just the larger part of a broken run of 15 entries qualifying in a row (BJSCs 81 & 83-96), so they'll match their non-consecutive contests record if their next entry qualifies.
July 28, 20195 yr Aww, shame. I figured I’d gotten a little bit of a poor semi but I mean, it’s not a bad result for its type given the strong popRnB inclinations of that semi. The song is sadly not as good as Flashback from UP but what is really. Very unfortunate to see Trifoski out, that was my favourite in semi 1! And Aesthetica should have made it, really good K-Pop, the little ‘okay’s really worked on it.
July 28, 20195 yr Whoops at finishing that low 😔 been hooked on it for a couple of months as well, I do wish the video was on YouTube though... I lost just Aesthetica and Séyetana from my votes, Cowtermont were also in my Commiserations so surprised a little that they also dnqed. I just hope the final is better than semi 2 was overall!
July 29, 20195 yr I qualified?? Yay, ending my streak at long last! Don't have much else to say as I'm away but I think most of my faves got in.
July 29, 20195 yr Cowtermont were also in my Commiserations so surprised a little that they also dnqed. I was also surprised Cowtermont DNQd with that! Speaking of which, they were my 1 point and it's interesting how I only lost my 1 and 2 points this time. 12 - Q 10 - Q 8 - Q 7 - Q 6 - Q 5 - Q 4 - Q 3 - Q 2 - Tartford // Raúl Orellana - The Real Wild House 1 - Cowtermont // KLOUD - Exit Alive
July 29, 20195 yr oops all the oldies out in semi 1 - 10CC Benee and SAAY got votes from us, so a shame they are out too. On the plus side I have the vicarious happiness of seeing The Regrettes through, I knew it was an easy Q. :yahoo:
