She is one of the best artist out today, doesn´t matter your opinion. I also have the right to have my opinion, and you might call her bland just because she doesn´t make club music (in fact she has a few songs, but people who only know her superficially don´t know about that). I think someone who likes an artist who makes a song like "Rudebox" or a boyband who only does cover versions of old ballads don´t really have authority to determine what should be liked and what not.

 

 

To the other post above, I would love to have a collection of 1,000 CDs, if I had enough money for that. Funny that you mention that your collection includes Dido. So wether you bought a record on an artist you detest, or you just like it but don´t admit because it´s not cool. Both options reveal a huge poorness of personality.

Wow, Anastacia received a call from Michael Jackson, and WHO CARES? In the end, Dido is a more lucrative artist in terms of record sales. If we made a poll here about Dido vs. Anastacia maybe Ana would win, but I don´t really think a poll have that much importance when even artists life Weslife would be able to win endless polls.

Err what? I bought Dido's first album because I worked beside someone who told me it was fantastic. I wasn't sure but I bought it. I didn't like it. Just as I've bought loads of albums on recommendations from other people. Albums that I turned out to not particularly like. I've got cupboards full of them. On the other hand, I've bought albums recommended to me that I turned out to absolutely love and I've actually been introduced to the artist that way.

It's not a 'huge poorness of personality'. It's called being open minded and trying out all different kinds of music. You win some, you lose some. And with 'No Angel' I 'lost some'.

Unfortunately Dido now lives with my Corrs, my James Blunt and my Rasmus CDs. All bought on recommendations, all filed at the back of my CD collection.

Still at least I see I've progressed from having 'No Personality' to a 'Hugely Poor Personality'. :lol:

No, that was just an answear to someone who was having delirious that Anastacia was more popular then Dido. To me it doesn´t matter because Dido is better then them all independent of how much she sells.

Lol, you should try listening to a sample before buyng something just because your friends are listening. It works. However, thanks for being one of those who helped this wonderfull album become the 15th biggest selling of all time in UK. You haven´t liked it, but 90% of the people who bought it thought it was good enough to buy the follow up.

To have 14 # 1´s and a bazillion top 10 singles only releasing cover versions of old song is something of an achievement, and I´m starting to think they must have something special to be able to sell that.
