94 Ben Howard - Towing The Line 50

95 Natalie Prass - The Fire 48

99 Pond - Burnt Out Star 40

100 Birdeatsbaby - Better Man 36

101 Kurt Vile - Bassackwards 25

102 WILD - Just Begun 16

103 CLOVES - One Big Nothing 0

104 Ribongia ft. Bastien Picot - Gone 0

Kicking off with this batch including singer/actress Katie Garfield whose track ‘Gallows’ has a few fans here and also has some relation to Teen Wolf. Scottish duo LOVE SICK’s UP hit Fever is here as well as Kurt Vile’s wonderful, hazy folk tune Bassackwards

94 Ben Howard - Towing The Line

this was probably my fav song of 2018

love the lyrics even if I don't have a clue about what he's singing about,

love the "I'll crow for you, you crow for me" line

The first one will be quite hard as it wasn't submitted :P

Might be something to do with it coming out in 2019

Actual results :o

4 songs I voted for out already x most of those are not surprising but I would have thought TĀLĀ could be a bit higher than that! Oops at there being 2 songs with no points at all x

81 Snail Mail - Heat Wave 80

82 Soccer Mommy - Your Dog 78

83 Jagwar Twin - Loser 77

84 of Montreal - Paranoiac Intervals/Body Dysmorphia 72

85 Soccer Mommy - Cool 69

86 Projector - Break Your Own Heart 63

87 Suzi Island - Show Me the Way 63

88 Against All Logic - Know You 62

89 Gerry Cinnamon - Belter 61

90 Wallows - These Days 56

Two tracks from Soccer Mommy’s breakthrough album Clean, including the excellent ‘Your Dog’. Meanwhile ‘Know You’ is a funky sample based cut from Nicholas Jaar’s Against All Logic project

71 The Fratellis - Starcrossed Losers 91

72 lovelytheband - Broken 90

73 Vance Joy - We're Going Home 89

74 Ravyn Lenae - Sticky 87

75 grandson - Blood // Water 86

76 Imagine Dragons - Natural 85

77 Panic! At The Disco - Say Amen (Saturday Night) 84

78 Villagers - Again 84

79 Kero Kero Bonito - Only Acting 81

80 Razorlight - Carry Yourself 80

A section bookended by two popular mid 2000s bands, Fratellis the highest of those with Starcrossed Losers. Kero Kero Bonito made a drastic shift to noisy rock on Only Acting, and the underrated Villagers appear with Again, the slow building opener for their fifth album

I thought Gerry Cinnamon, Imagine Dragons, grandson and lovelytheband would do better there. Voted for a few of those (some quite high!) but no major disappointments though.
I think that's pretty much all my nominations out in that group oops

You've still got Snow Patrol's Don't Give In (which I believe I gave quite a few points to!)

61 Ben Howard - Nica Libres at Dusk 107

62 DMA's - For Now 106

63 Dream Wife - Somebody 104

64 The Beths - Little Death 101

65 YUNGBLUD - Machine Gun (F**k the NRA) 100

66 NIMMO - Orange Skies 100

67 Kate Nash - Karaoke Kiss 97

68 Ex:Re - Crushing 96

69 Pale Waves - Kiss 94

70 Kate Nash - Hate You

Kate Nash registers two tracks inside the top 70, alongside the newly independent Nimmo with Orange Skies and Auckland-based indie pop band The Beths with Little Death. Ben Howard’s gorgeous introspective single Nica Libres At Dusk tops this batch

51 ROSALÍA - PIENSO EN TU MIRÁ 139

52 grandson - Thoughts & Prayers 138

53 MGMT - Me And Michael 137

54 Cosmo Sheldrake - Wriggle 132

55 Moses Sumney - Rank & File 122

56 MorMor - Heaven’s Only Wishful 122

57 Gwenno - Eus Keus 116

58 Snow Patrol - What If This Is All The Love You Ever Get 115

59 The Kooks - All The Time 111

60 Thom Yorke - Unmade 110

approaching the top 50, Moses Sumney’s intense track Rank & File is followed by Cosmo Sheldrake’s wonderfully odd Wriggle, MGMT’s soaring OMD-esque synthpop track Me & Michael, and politically charged BJSC winner Thoughts & Prayers from Grandson

No major losses there but really liked What If This Is All The Love You Ever Get, glad most of my faves have come top 50!

Some major losses

Rosalia, Ben Howard again

and Snow patrol

It's a decent Snow Patrol song, but I think the ones to come are much better!

I’ve always preferred What If This Is All The Love You Ever Get to Empress (only just though!) and Don’t Give In! Still, there were better songs on the album (especially A Dark Switch and Life On Earth!)
