Icelandic musician Ólafur Arnalds dropped his latest album re:member last year, some late votes bring his two entries here to the edge of the top 40. Some personal favourites in this batch from Everything Everything, US Girls and Iglooghost plus a very good album track from Let’s Eat Grandma *.*

25 Lykke Li - Deep End 210

Double Mitski in the top 30, including the short but stunning Geyser. We also have rising singer-songwriter Jade Bird, ska punk band The Interrupters with the energetic She’s Kerosene, Lykke Li making a turn for r&b pop on Deep End, and the returning Friendly Fires with their brand of danceable indie pop. Pink Lemonade is the popular pick from James Bay’s sophomore album and IDLES score a pleasingly high result with their TUNE Danny Nedelko

16 Bring Me the Horizon - MANTRA 243

17 Lana Del Rey - Venice Bitch 237

18 CHVRCHES - Miracle 235

19 Young Fathers - In My View 234

20 Beach House - Lemon Glow 231

Beach House’s hypnotic dream pop track Lemon Glow gets some much deserved love here, buy ‘7’ On iTunes x In My View makes the top 20 for Edinburgh’s experimental hip hop trio Young Fathers, along with CHVRCHES’ Miracle (where are the other Love Is Dead singles tho?), Lana Del Rey’s ten minute psychedelic trip Venice Bitch and Bring Me The Horizon’s comeback single MANTRA

11 Thom Yorke - Suspirium 270

12 ROSALÍA - MALAMENTE 266

13 Metric - Dressed to Suppress 264

14 Lana Del Rey - Mariners Apartment Complex 264

15 The 1975 - TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME 262

The 1975’s ‘TOOTIME’ is the third highest of their entries. More Lana next, Mariners Apartment Complex is one of my faves from her with its soft orchestral backing and uplifting lyrics. Indie rockers Metric’s Dressed To Suppress has proven very popular on buzzjack, followed by flamenco pop singer ROSALÍA who continued her ascent last year with tracks like MALAMENTE, and Thom Yorke’s Suspirium, taken from the Suspiria soundtrack

Great to see Mantra finish as high as #16, it’s a shame that Suspirium just missed out on the top ten though.
Well done 'Blood // Water' and 'For Now' getting near/over 100 points with only 3-4 voters. Wow at 'Lifetime' top 40! My Mitski preference won out with 'Geyser' higher, but my favourite of The 1975's 2018 singles is their lowest, aww. Hope my least favourite ('It's Not Living...') isn't the highest. Good to see 'Venice Bitch' top 20 after bafflingly being eliminated first round in that Lana singles poll :kink: Surprised 'Mariners Apartment Complex' is higher though because that one seems a lot more missable to me.

so many of my big favourites gone

Snow Patrol - Don't Give In, thought this would easily be top 10

also Rosalia - Malamente, I even thought she might be the #1

same for Sufjan - Mystery of love... a sorta lost classic...

same for Young Fathers, but maybe people are not very familiar with the song and people in here seems to be voting what they already know without venturing to listen to new stuff

10 Billie Eilish - you should see me in a crown 284

9 Let's Eat Grandma - Falling Into Me 299

8 Christine and the Queens - Doesn't matter 303

Billie Eilish kicks off the top 10 with You Should See Me In a Crown, the first of her two tracks here. In a very pleasant surprise Let's Eat Grandma grab 9th with Falling Into Me, a highlight from the duo's bizarre and brilliant second album I'm All Ears. Christine & The Queens' Doesn't Matter is my personal favourite from the Chris era, she also has another track left

Not really a fan of any of those 3!

To be fair, there were 104 entries :P

Of course people will vote for the ones they know.

thats the wrong approach

there was plenty of time so that people could listen to the songs multiple times and get familiar with them

otherwise you just favour the popular super famous songs by the popular super famous bands

5 The 1975 - Love It If We Made It 325

Following their mainstream breakthrough, twenty one pilots opt for a heavier rock sound on Jumpsuit. Christine & The Queens scores the same for synth funk jam Girlfriend, and The 1975’s anthem of modern society Love It If We Made It enters the top 5

4 The 1975 - It's Not Living (If It's Not With You) 335

3 Arctic Monkeys - Four Out of Five 337

The 1975’s euphoric tune ‘It’s Not Living’ ranks as their highest here <3 Arctic Monkeys’ Four Out Of Five, the main single from their 6th album is a more laidback affair for them, though does carry a sarcastic charm

I think it's when the party's over against We Appreciate Power then... a very good top two, happy with either of them winning!
