November 11, 200618 yr you could be right, but i hope your not!!like the beatles but am sick of them at the same time
November 12, 200618 yr The Oasis compilation at least has a reason to exist - it's the only Oasis compilation... The U2 one is just an incredibly crude cash-cow, they've already had two not so long ago.....

The U2 one is just an incredibly crude cash-cow, they've already had two not so long ago..... I agree, it's a big cash in. If you ask me they should'nt have released their 2002 Best of'. This year is their 30th Anniversary so it makes more sence when you think about it. Which albums do you think contains better songs btw?
November 12, 200618 yr maybe im wrong i dontthink the beatles album will do that well,it will sell ok but nothing major, maybe snow patrol, scissor sisters or killers could be in with a shout of number 1 aagin as they all have new singles out which will boost album sales  A few facts - The Beatles will be huge, as will Oasis. Mark my words, Oasis will sell more B) U2 however will do well as well, so its rather immaterial....

November 12, 200618 yr 1980-1990 for me (it was 80-90 wasnt it?) Yes, their was the 1980-1990 & the 1990-2000 ^_^
November 12, 200618 yr I think Oasis WILL be No.1 because it's their first compilation and U2's third.Beatles could even beat U2 too.

Which albums do you think contains better songs btw? If it's the 30th Anniversary or U2, wouldn't a limited edition box set of rarities, demos, etc stretching all the way back to '76 have been a better thing to give the real fanatics than just some tacky "Best Of.." merely to get into the Christmas charts....? To answer the question you asked, for me, it's '80-'90 all the way....
November 18, 200618 yr U2 Both albums have many songs missing but at least U2 attempted to cover all the phases of their career equally. The Oasis album is too heavily weighted towards the first two albums IMO. Edited November 18, 200618 yr by Tim
November 18, 200618 yr U2 Both albums have many songs missing but at least U2 attempted to cover all the phases of their career equally. The Oasis album is too heavily weighted towards the first two albums IMO. The U2 album does'nt contain any material from their first 3 albums which many consider their best work. Also does'nt contain enough of their experimental material from the 90's imo. Far too much recent material, although their last 2 albums have been amazing, other songs are far more deserving IMO! Oasis album, I agree, if mainly their first few albums, however they are without a doubt their best, Remember, this is a 'Best of' not a Greatest Hits, which is why the likes of 'Hindu times', 'All around the world' etc don't feature. It is missing 11 singles, which is alot. I definatly think 'Whatever' should be on there, also some BHN and Heathen Chemistry singles cause they are some great songs imo.
November 18, 200618 yr I like U2, but Oasis is better in depth. May buy the Beatles album as suggests also if it's on sale in Woolies.
November 18, 200618 yr I won't buy Oasis as I have all their albums. Will buy U2 though, even though I have the previous two compilations.
November 18, 200618 yr The Beatles album is bloody amazing. I recomend it to all  I bought Oasis, U2 and Beatles today and have'nt dtopped listening to 'Love'
