Reports tonight that Dominic Grieve will be de-selected by his local party in Beaconsfield party for losing the party whip as Boris wants to steal his seat as it's safer than his current one. It's long been speculated that the PM would need a safer Tory seat.

 

Reports in tomorrow's papers as discussed on Sky News that Boris might be looking to dump his constituency because it's a bit marginal .......... and having the nerve to stand in Dominic Grieve's constituency now that he's been kicked out of the party !

First, Grieve cannot be selected as a Tory candidate while he doesn’t have the Tory whip.

 

I said ages ago that Johnson might try and abandon his constituency in favour of a safer seat. It was obvious that dumping lots of MPs, many of them in rock-solid Tory seats made that more likely. Anyone with a handful of active brain cells should have worked out by now that Johnson’s only loyalty is to himself.
